There’s a sticky thread above on modelling to cross-sections which explains the process, although I’ll just highlight that it’s a bit above beginner level. You’re also trying to create the whole...
It looks to me that you’re trying to model a fuselage with a large air scoop at the nose. I wouldn’t recommend trying to build the air scoop as part of the fuselage sections at this time, but...
That’s the single most difficult thing to learn when starting out, many found. This is where the Gmax and FS modelling oddities rear their heads for real.
The box gets its normals flipped because...
This may need some heavy voodoo, but I think it's a video driver configuration problem. Try this thread on FSDeveloper, and pay attention to post #8.
...
Click on each object in turn and turn the diagonal lines off (or on, if you wish) with Control-E. You've also got the bounding box showing around Cylinder01 – the outline showing the overall...
The keyboard shortcut to turn these lines off or on is Control-E. :encouragement:
That's a thorny subject! FS modelling has had many authors over the years, many of whom have moved on to other things, some of whom have died, but unless a modeller clearly stated their model may be...
That's odd, link is working for me, although I went to the link in the sticky thread above. :dizzy: Check your pop-up blocker settings etc.
Cracker of a screenshot, Major, and a terrific model it is too! :applause::applause::applause:
I think this is the beauty you mean? Magnifique! :applause:

Paint.NET works with and saves as .tiff files. It's also free. I'm a Photoshop user myself (very old version), but sometimes Paint.NET gets me out of a hole.

Looking very sharp, Joost, ‘tis a labour of love. :applause:
Looks a lot better now than that photo from Poona, I've waited a long time to see her in flight. Hopefully a Mk.V will also make it back into the air some day and I'll get to hear a Sabre used in...
Much too young, I'm really sorry to hear this. My condolences particularly to his family, Beau was a big part of the CFS3 scene for many years and a greatly valued collaborator.
As some of you will know, I have a soft spot for the Hawker Tempest Mk.II and discovered this in my YouTube feed tonight. Magnificent! I can feel the compulsion to visit a Duxford air show again......
The limit is texture vertices, iirc. Gmax will export a model of more than 200,000 vertices as long as they’re not all mapped to a single texture, or not textured at all. There’s a MaxScript command...
If you need recommendations for places to see in England, I'm sure we can oblige! :wavey:
That's good to know, and noted for future reference! :encouragement:
You may need to install/reinstall DirectX 9.0c (June 2010).

Hope this helps. :wavey:
A single dual magneto? Errr… The Griffon used a BTH CSH12-12S/4 dual magneto which afaik has each magneto on a separate drive shaft. Rolls-Royce for some reason forgot that precaution with a later...
You’ve been busy, Ted! I do like 3D cockpit details, that’s shaping up well and I’m with Frosty: Wellington without a doubt.
Alfred Price (The Spitfire Story) explains the F.21 problems as being of over-control:–
LA187 was the first production F.21 and its problems were common among the early aircraft, including...
Aha! I know that Mk.21 well… :encouragement:
Fascinating, Ted! The aftermath of war's hardware, cluttered together in various states of repair. I wonder how many of these aircraft were actually still airworthy?
