I fly P3D4.5 and find it far superior to FSX Steam because of 64 bit technology for one thing. It has a few minor differences in the menu bar but simple enough. I have a very high end desktop so I cannot intelligently say what the floor is for a decent system. The basic file structure is virtually identical to FSX / Steam.

I should be picking up a 6gb card soon. Because of my system I'm limited to a NIDIA GTX 1060 6gb. I'm looking forward to trying Prepar3D v4 in the near future. Hopefully one of these days I'll be able to update my PC.

The cabin will start to climb at the set rate until it reaches the psi limit of 7.5psi, independent of the aircraft rate of climb - that is the whole idea of the system. I suggest anyone who is unfamiliar with details of pressurization read this web post: https://www.cfinotebook.net/notebook/operation-of-aircraft-systems/pressurization. One gross misunderstanding about pressurization in airliners, especially by the typical passenger, is the need for it. The assumption is, "well, this not just enough oxygen up there so we need it." WRONG- there is plenty of oxygen - how the hell do they think jet fuel burns without it? The problem is oxygen in the lungs needs to be under enough pressure to saturate the blood vessels in the lungs so the blood system has an adequate supply; if not,...

Greetings! A few of us "Niners" at one of the FS Sites are putting together a friendly "competition" in the interests of both camaraderie and straight up Fun... Had an idea about a re-creation of the Bendix Trophy race from Santa Monica Airport (KSMO) to Cleveland (KCLE) that was run from the 30's until the early 60's. Wanted to focus on the period from '46 to '49, immediately after the War and a time when all of the hot fighter planes were being sold as Surplus except for a few Navy planes. P-38 Lightnings and P-51 Mustangs were the most common types, and Mustangs won the Trophy in all the races during the period. For the purposes of the 'challenge' and to make it somewhat realistic, the Rules would be simple; fly a predetermined Route with mandatory Fuel stops, the fastest time...

I agree Tom. Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice freeware model with great potential. However, the old Aerosoft FSX model is the standard by which all OV-10s will be judged.

Had me some flying fun this weekend. Actually, when MSFS was released and having taken a look at the format of the models, I seriously doubted that we would be blessed with the many freeware gems that we got to enjoy in the legacy sims. I was wrong. All of the following are freeware, and all of them stunningly beautiful! Cheers, Priller

I wish this extremely useful tip is written in the manuals!!! Many thanks for the answer, Mike 71 That poses a new question I want 2,000 ft per minute climb after take off. Will the cabin altitude setting to 500 ft per minute affect my desired climb rate after take off or is it separate function? Regards, Aharon

Built by the Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors, the FM-2 Wildcat essentially is an improved version of the famous Grumman F4F-4. Recognized by its taller fin than the F4F, the FM-2 was also modified to include an improved power plant, increased ammunition capacity by reducing its armament from six .50-inch machine guns to four, and improved directional stability with a modified fin. I found a freeware version native FSX including the Escort Carrier USS Savo Island. The aircraft is marked for VC-27. Also below is a link to the update by Jerry Beckwith also from AVSim. Enjoy! https://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=144429 https://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?Location=AVSIM&Proto=ftp&DLID=145460
