Well, I guess either I don't understand what this blogging phenomenon is all about or the community doesn't, or you do and simply don't care one way or the other, lol. . .not sure which. I started out simply writing my thoughts on the New Year ahead for 2013 and periodically, rather than go on a rant in the forums, posted my thoughts on other things flightsim related in my blogs. Seemed like the right thing to do, that way, in an open forum, it didn't turn into unnecessary carnage. What I thought
Quite some ago now Maarten Boelens released his "FSX Launcher". I was on the bandwagon from the get-go because it truly was and still is a remarkable little utility. His customer service is impeccable. . .you have a problem or question, he answers almost immediately. . .if it's a function or addition you're questioning and he deems it needing an update, he immediately releases a new version to replace the current one with the new functions/corrections in place (all done automatically when
First off, these shouldn't be called Blogs. . .they should be called "Rants", lol. . .just sayin'
I guess I wouldn't even be talking about this were it not for the fact that I fly with the Flight19 Crew over in FS9. There is one other pilot (MM) that occasionally will fire up his FSX and join me, but mostly what we have are about 5 FS9 fliers and 1 FSX flier (me). I would have to guess that about 75% of the airports we land at, FS9 and FSX are fairly close as far as the rwy
I have really tried, many times. . .to hop on the "DX10 Is Awesome" bandwagon and give it a good ride. I just can't anymore, lol. I will say up front that I blame my aging rig for the lack of "WOW Factor" where DX10 is concerned. I have to assume that's the culprit because I've followed every suggestion made and every tutorial known to man and I just don't see what's so great about it. Claims of "no more stutters", "smooth, predictably steady FPS", "much
I was looking through the thread concerning A2A's upcoming rendition of the Cessna 172. My first reaction was. . .ughhh, another 172, really? My second reaction was similar. . .why, out of all the airplanes, even GA types, that could be done, are we getting yet another 172? There is a "love-hate" relationship that RW pilots and armchair pilots alike have with some airplanes. Maybe one that they enjoyed flying only because it got them one step closer to what they really wanted to fly and
