I'm sorry to read that you are having so many problems with FSX and Win8. I know its too late, but I would not have uninstalled the program without trying a few more things. You indicated issues with the settings on your controller. One logical step would have been to remove the FSX.cfg file and start anew, including resetting your controller. This also would have returned you to the default flight. Many engine settings are contained in the *.flt files, so by returning to the default flight you could determine if that had been the cause for the engine not starting. I'm new to FSX and Win8, so I'm still learning a lot which is why I'm interested in your progress. The other day I came across a thread that talked about an issue with throttle settings in FSX and recommended a change to the Standard.XML file which happens to be the main file for your controllers. The issue, apparently, is that the throttle does not reach 0% or 100%. Shutoff for me closes the throttle at 4%, for example. Anyways, my point is that we did not see if this files got corrupted or modified on your install. As for your current situation, I don't have any advice for reinstalling FSX. What kind of issues or error messages are you encountering? Are the messages related to the registry, UAC or something else that is preventing a reinstall. Good luck.

Don't know if this helps or not, but I did fix it on my install. Looking at the model.cfg for the Mk.III additions, they both refer to the LODESTAR Mk6 mdl files. By editing the model.cfg to point to the HUDSON Mk3 files, the textures are as expected. Not sure if that was intended or not. Otherwise the Mk.6 mdl files are causing the problem.

I know that PVAviator has 10% off on all items, but I was wondering if there are other sales going on.

Yes, same problem. Textures for the Mk3 Civil and Military on the rear of the fuselage are not right. Cannot tell if its a texture issue or a mapping issue.

Thank you Francois and Simon. You may want to check the textures for the Mk. III Mil and Civil rear fuselage.

Hey there. Thought I might revive this thread with my latest discovery. I purchased the Milviz Eagle a couple days ago and while trolling through their forum I came across their package for scenery updates and ai. Their package updates the following airports and adds Eagle traffic at the following locations: 1. Edwards AFB, CA 2. Seymour-Johnson AFB, NC 3. Mountain Home AFB, ID 4. Lakenheath AB, UK 5. Bagram AB, Afghanistan 6. Elmendorf AFB, AK 7. Nellis AFB, NV

Guess I shouldn't worry so much... FS9 is at 21.1 Gb FSX is at 65.4 Gb I try to control sizes by moving aircraft (and some scenery) folders to an external HD if and when I feel I don't fly them, thereby leaving the favorite aircraft in the sim. So there is an additional 150.0 Gb for FS9 and 8.6 Gb for FSX of inactive aircraft, manuals, paint kits, etc. on an external drive. This does not include the full copies of each sim on other portable drives used as backups in case of a reinstall, etc.

I purchased mine from FS Pilot Shop earlier today, and it's version 1.2. The download page says: "File Last Updated: Saturday, 18th May, 2013 @ 01:09am."

Nope. I did figure out the "pilotable" vessel and saved a flight with the carrier in Puget Sound. But as for the LSO, he's got pretty stiff arms by now. :icon_lol:

This is per the manual on the various panel.cfg files.. To activate and animate the LSO, add the following lines to the panel.cfg for the aircraft you wish to use with the CV-6. WindowXX=Batsman //--------------------------------------------------------

Sorry I wasn't more specific in my thoughts. What I meant was that it was as if I was missing a *.dll or other program that the LSO setup needs to function. Basically it's a Window and xml gauge added to the panel.cfg. I can open the window and the LSO is standing there with his arms and paddles outstretched, but there is no animation as expected when I deviate from the landing flight path. I have a support ticket in with Vertical Studios, so we'll get this sorted out in time. I was just wondering if someone else might have the same issue, or if it is just my setup. I should add that this issue isn't detracting from addon. The install is straightforward, the vessel looks fantastic, and I've made about 20 traps and take offs without the LSO.

Anyone able to get the LSO to function?? I've modified my panel.cfg and added the entry per the manual, but all he does is hold his arms out. Seems like I'm missing something, but not sure what. :salute:

Roger that... Now, can someone direct me to some instructions on how to work with carriers in FSX?? I hate to admit it but this was my first landing and takeoff on an FSX carrier. :salute: Whoops. Nevermind. Just found the manual. Gotta fly now. :mixedsmi:

Hello to everyone great job on all the planes and the scenery here in Combat Flight center.
I have a strange question to put out there. I downloaded the F9f Panther for CFS2 A beautiful and great plane but when you are flying this plane as you look to your left or right you do not see any wings on the airplane for some reason, why is this? And how does one fix this problem.
Hey thanks for listening and happy flying fellow FS people.

The rest of the packs will be released as payware (but will not hurt your budgets!) as a rolling release from this point on. Originally, the release was planned as one big issue, but due to life circumstances, it will now be released
