Neither - it's actually an F.MkIX with a Merlin 63, taken on charge on 5th June 1943. At this point the LF.MkIX had been in production for some 3 months or so, but was still not the main production...

Although I do enjoy WW2 as well...

That Spitfire looks like one of the skins I did for the Just Flight version years ago. Another thing I ought to update!

Thanks, Ted - it is indeed a whole new model which admittedly uses the RS P-40E cockpit, but which otherwise is not based on any anything that has already been released. More in due course...

Daniel, that's news to me about the missing nose guns, and none of my sources say anything like it. However, the first batch of 100 to arrive were the A-1 type with cowl guns but only one gun in each...
