Anyone know if 512kbps will be sufficant to fun cfs3? Without too much lat. I have clearwire now and thinking about going with wildblue. I am out in the stix and have no cable or dsl available. Wildblue is a satalitte provider. Any ideas or input?

I can understand a level of frustration that may ensue after flying a round of multiplayer CFS3 and being the new guy. Let me fist explain that on any given night or day you will enter an arena filled with veteran fliers who have spent countless hours shooting each other out of the skies and have become very good at it. I will also say that to a man each one of these fine fliers, myself included, was at one point a rookie and faced the same challenges of trying to figure out how to survive the mayhem.

That being said, we all prevailed and managed to figure out survival tactics. Most often asking for advice from fellow fliers proved to be the best way to go about it. Once armed with some dangerous info flying night after night after night honing the skills required is the best way you are going to succeed.

In closing, my friend, I think you will have much better success approaching these fine folks, myself included, asking for help rather than
making accusations of cheating.

Hi PE, to give you a comparison:
I've got an "8mb" connection, the true speed is usually around 5 - 5.5mb. I personally think 512 will give you headaches,

What kind of connection do you have at the moment,
Am guessing dial up,
What are you getting for connection speed
56 kbps to 128
IF you are in this range 512kbps would be a big improvement.

Problem is that you can pay to have the highest connection that one can
afford, But you may still have a problem with LATENCY (Distance between you and server) Or person hosting game or persons joining your game.

A faster connection always helps and will make the game play a lot better
but LATENCY is what it is

inside your main game folder for CFS3-FP you will find a file named "FP Multiplayer.EXE". Run it and pick "Stock" to get into a non-FirePower game.

TWISTFISH, you have to shut down that FP with the *.exe I told you about last night.

Also, you need to make sure to open your router ports (port forwarding). If not, you won't be able to host.:d

click on the CHANGE tab (a/c restrictions) on the first Host
