    changing key assignments

    Just wondering if there is a way to make 3 triggers for guns.Example, the TR B-25H has the forward .50 cals, the 75mm gun, as well as the rear and sides. obviously dont want to always fire the cannon with the forward guns, nor do want to always fire the rear when the forward guns are fired.Is there a way to create another trigger or substitute etc?

    ...start the game . Go to "Settings" , then "Controller Assignments", then "Event Category" in the listing window look for "weapons command". Then choose what you want assignment you want with what button

    All you can have is Guns only, Cannons only or Guns and Cannons. You can't give it individual triggers outside of those parameters.

    Those are set by the DP. So you can group them to the guns or cannons but there is no third option in the DP. Its just one of the limitations that we face with CFS2.

    Now I'm not positive but gun pods might work. Don't quote me on this. Its been a long time since I've used Gun Pods. So look in that direction. Thats all I've got.

    BH....

    ..you have more expertise in that area than do I but maybe he can alter the .dp to give him that capability. I believe it was one of the DBolt's Corsairs ( not exactly sure on that one, but I know one of the aircraft in my air armada has the capability) where I could use one trigger for guns and another for cannons. IIRC there is also one out there somewhere where the rear gunner can fire independently.

    BTW: HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!

    Its the third trigger that he is wanting to do. That is the one that I don't think will work. I'm trying to remember how to do the gun pods. I believe that they will still go to the guns or the cannons.

    Another question on this same subject:

    In Corsairs with cannon, is it possible to set the trigger to 1 for the cannon on the Corsairs with only cannons?
    The reason I ask is I thought in settings if I change assignments to make the cannon on the Corsair fire with the normal trigger, it eliminates the other aircraft firing guns with it.
    My understanding is that it is an either or scenario: either guns or cannon for all aircraft, not just the one I want to change.

    I hate dogfighting with button 2 assigned to cannon on a plane that only has cannons. Much easier for me to just squeeze the trigger. My thumbs have been injured too many times and don't like to move to shoot and then sit relaxed so as to not put weight on the 2 button.

    Devildog, this is the guns from the dp of a Corsair:

    ; Left Guns
    gunstation.0=0,24,1,0.06,990,2,0.01,1000,2,30,1d1*38,-2.429,-0.66,0.815,0.119651268759032,0,0.463894691272955,0 ,0,0,0,1.6
    ; Right Guns
    gunstation.1=0,31,1,0.06,990,2,0.01,1000,2,30,1d1*38,2.863,-0.594,0.749,0.119651268759032,0,-0.546776123639333,0,0,0,0,1.6

    The third number right of the = highlighted in red is the trigger call. It tells the sim which trigger to use for a gun weap -- 1 for finger trigger and 2 for thumb trigger. If you want to modify the cannon trigger from thumb to finger, change the number 2 to 1. Don't worry about a global setting affecting other AC. This mod is done on individual aircraft via dp editing.
