    boeing field trees

    Hi All.

I just installed boeing3.zip which is seattle boeing and renton airports. Everything installed fine but now I have what looks like trees missing on the ridge to the east of the field. How do I tell what texture is missing?

    Thanks,
    Sean

Are you sure it's just textures that are missing? Do you see bare trees, standing like those stand-up cards you see on tables in restaurants? Or do you just see a bare ridge with nothing on it at all?

If the trees are completely missing, the problem isn't a missing texture - it's missing trees. That would happen if the scenery includes an exclude file that's excluding autogen trees from that location. It could be tricky to remedy that.

First, be sure there should be trees on that ridge. It's possible that the scenery designed removed them because they shouldn't be there.

If they should be there, you could find the exclude file, open it bglxml,
    (FlightSim: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib....ight&fid=94057)
and adjust the boundaries of the exclude zone (use a plane in the sim in slew mode to determine the boundaries. Having the airport open in AFCAD makes it easier to track your location coordinates.)

Then recompile the exclusion file with bglcomp (from the FS9 SDK.)

Some bgl files won't open in bglxml. If that's the case, I don't know if anything else can be done.

This could be a tedious and fiddly process, but if you really want those trees, this might get them back for you.

I see the grey panels with another intersecting panel. I also seem to remember when I installed this package before there was something wrong with the trees over there.

You're definitely missing a texture then. Check the readme's to see if there's a required tree texture package that you don't have, like the ones from Gerrish Gray or Nova Gold.
