FSX Chkalovsk AB Scenery for FSX/Acceleration/SP2. This is Chkalovsk AB, Russia for those who enjoy flying Russian fighter jets. Chkalovsk has civilian and military traffic, and is situated in western Russia. This scenery was researched, but is still highly fictional. It includes HAS, people, animals, and many hidden objects for those that like to explore. Statically parked are Su-27 Flankers, gliders, and an AN-225. By Walker Grant.

    Over Poland.

I like this plane. Model 3D is very well done, VC totaly accepted and all project has big potential. For improve: manual & flight dynamics (for me, as I know MiG-21) this FM must be tune up. Small correction needs effect of smoke from engine (dont Know why but this effect eats many fps).
I hope CS weapon will works too. With this all will be perfect free addon for FSX! Crg!

Zsolt, those photos/color plates are from 2 old books from Squadron/Signal Publications. One is called Flying Colors which has many different aircraft color plates in it and the other is Fighting Colors Mig-21 Fishbed in Color by Hans-Heiri Stapfer. I'm not even sure either book is still in print anymore. I paid $25 for the Flying Colors book in 1983 which was expensive for the time. The Mig-21 in Color book I found in a hobby store clearance rack a couple of years ago and the store clerk told me they had that book in the store unsold for 20 years! I had looked at the book many times before getting it. They sold it to me for $1 !

MF Update (Category: FSX > Military)
    1.77Mb (549 downloads)
This is an update for FSX of the Mig-21 MF by Ivan Jurcaga. I have updated the flight dynamics, given it a 2D panel, and added nav lights. There is a VC, but you need to read Russian or possibly Czech to know what all is on it. You need the original aircraft for this update to work.

I had this update installed and found the airspeeds to be very low.

    No problem with my airspeed...
    Maybe a corrupt download?

For the interested, I have created a cockpit and startup guide.I suspect that the "update" mentioned here is from someone with no knowledge of the plane. From my research, it flies accurately, and beyond that, why would lights need to be "added" to the model when they are already included? It's just a matter of knowing the correct systems to turn them on.

This is a great little jet to buzz around in, and a nice contrast to the Milviz T-38. Lots of character. The only obvious issue is the really aggressive speed brake - it's like throwing out a battleship anchor at low speed, lol.

Thank you Sean :salute::salute::salute:, fantastic job !

    cheers, Henk.

PS: Just used it, works perfect ! Just 1 minor, non life threatening issue: In the cockpit familiarization picture of the left console, the dragchute release/reload button label is in the wrong place, it should point at the white button just after the flaps switches.

Thanks for running through it. I'm glad that it helps!
Figured as much when I was labeling the image for the chute release. Second guessed myself!

The white button on the fwd part of the throttle quadrant is for jettisoning of the JATO (SPRD) bottles.
