I always loved those early war markings. Excellent rendition!
Ken
very purty!
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to
Lovely!!
Thank you very much
Cheers

Great, I love that weathered look.
Can it be that the circle segment of the marking on the left aileron trimtab (on top of the wing) is up side down or mirrored?
Cheers,
Mark
Thanks folks!
Me too Ken! I have been waiting to paint this particular scheme since the Dauntless was released. Really looking forward to their future Wildcat, in the early schemes as well.
The weathered look is from the paint kit from Vertigo.
Good catch roger-wilco-66, unfortunatly the left aileron trimtab is also mapped as the right aileron tab, or vice versa. For some reason it shows upside down on the left. I guess its one of those things we'll just have to deal with, lol.
Very nice!!!:salute:
If government was the answer, it was a stupid question!
Excellent work :salute:
That's a great looking repaint!:ernae:

Let me see what I can do about the Aileron Trim Tab
Thanks folks! Just like their Hellcat, their Dauntless is a joy to paint
Thank you Dean! I hope its not too much trouble. This is a unusual paint scheme, so there probably wont be too many paints with that large of roundels. So. please dont go to a lot of trouble, its not that bad.
Meanwhile, I will wait and see what happens before I upload.
I have fixed the gap in the fuselage roundels
Is a simple fix and will be corrected in the patch we're working on.
Love the early war versions with the meatballs too!! Soon as I get some breathing room..... this plane is at the top of the list of any FSX purchases I make.

save up double. This P-36 i'm working on for vertigo is the absolute best work ive ever done, and we still have a ways to go..
Hi Martin. the P36 and F8F are the next up for release and then theres the early Jets we're working on.
Mmm MMM Good!! OK I have been living on sandwiches... looks like a couple more weeks of sandwiches added on to get the Mohawk as well!
Think I will celebrate by toasting with some nice free water.
Now to get Hickam Field added to FSX to go along with the plane and sitting next to my A2A P-40.
On another note... with warbirds... people like to have their plane surrounded by squadron mates on the ramp.
I think if developers also released a lower LOD version... say minus the cockpits...and other finer details such as hydraulic lines etc.... then we would also have static AI versions we could also put on our favorite airfields and carrier decks.

Very nice repaint again Brian! Perhaps a simple one, but definitely one which is much wanted!
Cheers,
Huub
While we're on the subject of textures: the one place on this model where I wish we had texturing is the interior canopy frame. This is something that you see all the time when you're actually flying the plane. I've never done a repaint, but in the paintkit I think this is file "SBD3_12_t main.psd," layer "Detailing."

Ditto on the canopy frame, that is exactly what I thought when I first saw it.
