A floater - not a rare machine, but not much to go on in this photo.
I expect it to last about half-an-hour !
(sorry this image is so small - tried a larger one and it just would not load - this one took 10 minutes !)

Tried again and at this rate I'll be six feet under by the time this wee photo uploads. Something wrong here...... better declare OH
Not sure a larger pic would help me with that angle. (Something German perhaps?).
Mike- you should try to imbed the larger image. See if that works.
My mind was working around one of the submarine catapult launched aircraft, but none of those recorded match the biplane in the photograph. So presumably it's one launched off a ship's catapult?
Not entirely sure what you mean by 'imbed' - you mean link from a photo-hosting site ? Have done this before but find it a bit cumbersome - will persevere with the old-fashioned method. If the goalposts have been moved in terms of size of attachment, wish someone would tell me!
'In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes.' Not in mine you won't !
Hi Lefty.
No way with your first image, but the larger one - definitely the Fokker C.11W.
I find the hosting process not too bad. I generally use this site...Have done this before but find it a bit cumbersome - will persevere with the old-fashioned method.

You got it, G Over to you.
(I had actually given up waiting for the upload - the wee arrow was going round and round for just over half an hour, so I abandoned the post. Next time I looked - there was the image. Bizarre. May be a Firefox thing, though - the more updates there are on Firefox, the more glitsches appear. Anyone else use it?)
Thanks Lefty. I also use Firefox, dunno what version, but I always ignore their updates. What I find odd here is that when I have the "Insert Image" box up I cannot click on the "Select Files". Instead I have to go to "Basic" or "Uploader" and once you select and upload I have to delete the thumbnail image otherwise the same image is repeated in the post when you Submit Reply.
From the late nineties. Wikipedia says only one was built as a result of vibration problems in the piston engine-propeller extension shaft. Subsequent versions were powered by a jet engine.
Nobody else interested, apparently, G. It's the Viperfan !
Hi Mr, Green
Looked very familiar, but could not make the connection with the jet engined Viper Fan.
In this forum you are not supposed to make elderly persons feel embarrased, although that evidently does not apply to Mike.
Out of curiousity, does the aircraft in your pic carry an N-number?
Not embarrassed in the slightest, Walter.....

Nicely done Lefty! Over to you.
Sorry Wout - none of the illustrations I have show an N number.
Cheers!
Thanks G. Walter, I suspect that this is the same aircraft (N520VF) which was re-engined as a pure jet, but can't find any photos anywhere.
Here's something from another era.. Here's hoping the upload completes within the next couple of days......
The "VIRI", from the Club of Aeronautical Engineers of Finland (they probably have a secret handshake).
Indeed, G, it must have been a pretty exclusive club ! Well spotted - thought this would last a bit longer -
Thanks Lefty.
Is a silhouette OK? If not, I can delete it and put something else up.
Hi Mr. Green
Thank you for the Viperfan info. Overlooked that during in my training.
Your silhouette, the AIDC XC-2 from Rep. of China (Taiwan)?
Fairly new one.
Not an Otter, but still a former animal.
Correct designation counts as a bonus!
I recognize this as an An-2 rebuild. This the SibNIA TVS-2DT? Or maybe the 2MS? Hard to tell as the site I found it on is all Russian text.
Hi Kevin
I agree on all points. The TVS-2DT high wing modification (with Honeywell TPE331 turbine!) of the Colt. The aircraft is pretty fresh (although is uses an old An-2 airframe) as it first flew in 2014,maybe as late as December of that year
Please surprise us!
Thanks Walter. Here is one from the not too difficult pile.
Hi Moses
Yes an easy one! Bloch MB130A "Guynemer"
Cheers
BG
It is the "Blosh". Most pics are without the pants that I have found.
a cold one for BG. (We are at 100F today. First time this summer!)
