    How to make Shorelines

I am slowly getting back into my CFS3 before reloading all the other Theatres.

I have set up CFS3 as one separate unit and set a copy of my CFS3 as CFS MAD.

When I first joined this forum there was a post how to make shorelines in CFS3.

That was to make the existing shorelines more realistic.

I know it concerns using for replacing the CAB8 in the initial Dicks.

Now that is where I am now?

I am sure there is correct simple method?

Now to pick your minds? How!

    Thanks Again

    hi RCAFmad,

what happens is that for some reason the install process fails to pick up the Terrains2 folder when installing stock CFS3. If you can go into the disc and review the folders, you can copy over the Terrains2 folder, which contains the shorelines data and textures. Then your shoreline will look better.

You will currently have the Terrains folder under the main Combat Flight Simulator 3 folder, but I assume you are missing the second Terrains folder?

    HTH,

    Thanks for the Help!

I will give it a try.

I have a lot more questions as I stumble along!

This post made me check my CFS3 installations.

I checked my stock CFS3 and I have a Terrains2 folder, but it is empty. My ETO has a Terrains2 folder with 2 files (not counting the 2 zip files). Are these the 2 files that should also be in the stock CFS3 Terrains2? If so, is it only these 2?
    I can't find any Terrains2 on my CFS3 disk 2, or disk 1.

    Thanks Bob

    mcbob,

Look for a file named CAB8.CAB.

This is essentially a zip file, so extract the folder named terrains2 from it, then drop it into your Combat Flight Simulator 3 main game folder.

I do believe we already included this in ETO.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Everyone.

I was reminded to check my saved files and an original CFS3 install.

    You fellows were right!

My files showed a Terrains2 folder complete and a folder with a CAB8 available.

I copied the Terrains2 into my re installed CFS3 and copy as advised.

    The shorelines look brilliant!

If anyone comes across a file that they cannot find?

I will gladly review my Saved files and email to you.(If I have it?)

I have been given more than my share help over the years and want to help out.
