    Landing Video Thread

Yes. Landing videos. Let's see 'em! Post aircraft type/model, FS vendor, airport, weather conditions (like cross wind!), and realism settings. Realism settings are important. My friend's cat can land with crash detection turned off... Also, the video must be from the cockpit. You can post another, taken from outside, via the replay from FS Recorder or some such, because they are cool too, but... The primary entry must be from the cockpit.

For example: Aeroplane Heaven B-17F. Landing at Jacquinot Bay (JCB), Papua New Guinea. Pacific Island Simulations PNG Bush Pilot scenery installed. Real weather loaded, 20 knot crosswind. All aircraft realism settings full right.

Since mine usually end up in ugly crashes, I'll skip this one.

Yep, same here. Apparently I'm one of those cats he spoke about.

I use Fraps for capturing video on the computer. If you want to cut and splice multiple video clips to make scenes, then you would need some video editing software. I use AVS Video editor for that. I also run my Fraps output files through AVS just to convert them into something with a smaller file size, of course the resolution then suffers. I'm still learning the art of flight sim video making.

I was a little "wary" of starting this thread. Posting videos takes more time and effort than simple screen shot images, and that will limit the participation. As for my other concern, surely there are more than a couple members of a flight sim site that would want to show off their landing skills. Right..?

Once I figure out how to use fraps, I'll post a video or two here

All these years and never motivated to record anything in Flight Simulator until now.

AH L-10A on short final into Waukesha Co KEUS. Default FSX somewhat calm weather. Full realism (sliders are always full right).

Had to compress the clip down so the nice resolution went poof!

If I can re-motivate, will try something longer with a few edits as Fraps seems to max out at 30 seconds per clip.
