VERY NICE! Just a couple things about the model itself. I realize this is a beta type model but I just wanted to note a couple things. On the NAVY/MARINE J/S the USAF style refueling receptacle is not present. On all the paints I've seen, the panel lines are set up for it. Also, just curious. the sidewinders chosen and being used here....are they the only ones to choose from? If so, they are the wrong era I think? I may be wrong though.

The J/S "model" is not a fully representative product. In other words, only the nose was changed. When/if an actual J/S model is done (very VERY likely), the refuel will be fixed as well as adding the "newer" sidewinders.

Delta_Lima, really appreciate the comments to help this old painter. You confirmed what I know must be changed. Off to work on all three of my three repaints so far. Thanks again.

Thanks belong to you, and all the other repainters. You folks are the ones doing the real work.

This website gives some views of VF-161. The splinter plate markings are missing and from what i can see, the stars and bars is too small and the 113 should be bigger and right up to the join of the radome. Also, think this is more an issue for the developers, but the tail slime light is way off, the angle is too shallow....Just my thoughts but these paints look phantastic....

    F4 Clean Config.

Will there be a "Clean" version avail i.e. no ordnance or blivets hanging from the wing pylons. i.e. like this VX-4 config.
They look slick when the undersides are the same.

    Yep!

I have some more "E's" to do (and one or two "F's")
... And I have to update the "E's" already done.

Most of the time, the USN flew with just the centerline tank and armament. The wings tanks were not usually carried on the boat. Of course thre were exceptions, but not the norm.

The Marines, did use the wing tanks from their land bases. Hopefully there is a model to match the USN load out.
