On my system with the 7 x64 partition I get a big performance boost using DX10, while in DX9 it runs horribly.
Instead with the XP x86 partition it runs quite well in DX9, much better than on 7.

It wasn't the original BBD but however it's been a sad loss, fortunately without casualties.

BTW, as far as I know Gen-X doesn't have trees autogen, apart in the demo areas, so did you install...

I don't known if this bug was already reported, however with the landing lights turned on part of the gun sight becomes transparent.
