In short open the texture file in Martin Wright's DTX1 bitmap manipulator and export the alpha channel as a bmp file. Darken this bmp file in a photo editing program and import it again in the original bitmap. Make back-ups and adjust the shade of the bmp file until you are satisfied. A trick of 5 minutes, not more when you are familiar with the process. It might need a bit longer when you need to learn the process (but make sure to make back-ups!). Martin Wrights Graphic tools can be found here: http://www.mwgfx.co.uk/ (you will need DTXbmp). Good luck, Huub

I'm glad the BananaBob prop is already an improvement. Darkening the alphas will reduce the problem further, but doesn't fully solve it. Huub

I have seen your request, but I have nearly all native FSX Warbirdsim P-51s installed so there is no real reason for me to install Wozza's FS9 P-51 in FSX. As most of our members live on the other side of the pond (at least for me), most of our members haven't seen your request yet. So I suggest to wait for at least 12 more hours to see whether there is somebody able to help you. If not I will install Wozza's Stang (tomorrow) and do an attempt to create something. Remember; patience is a virtue....... and help is something which is offered, but there is is no right to demand it. Cheers, Huub

In weightlessness it is difficult to move heavy things. The force to start the movement will be equally large on your body. When you want to stop the movement you will have to apply force again which will also make your body move. That's why the Belgian and Dutch have developed a sort of camera tri-pod which can be mounted in the cupola from the International Space Station. In the place where I work we have a clean room in which all items which will be introduced in the European part from ISS will have a fit and compatibility check, before they are moved to ISS. When I was in this cleanroom in December last year I discovered the tri-pod which will be mounted in the cupola to support the cameras. With some imagination you see the shape of a half cupola with the bracket mounted. There is no camera on the bracket. I assume this item has been taken to ISS by the European astronaut Luca Parmitano last May. So you can expect better quality pictures due to some Belgian and Dutch engineering.... Cheers, Huub

When it happens independent of where and what you are flying, the answer is yes..... It might also be a cooling/heat problem. You could try whether it improves when you take a cover from your PC.

I don't think it serves any purpose to see two people quarreling about something nobody else in interested in. Thanks for you understanding and cooperation, Huub

Hi Jens I was indeed referring to the titles on the fuselage. It might be worth to try a bit texturing these letters, for instance some spickles, to make them look "less present" a bit. But as I already said a very interesting repaint, which will definitely find a place on my hard disk! Cheers, Huub

The main market for Adobe Photoshop is most likely professional photographers and publishers, I think for them there isn't much difference whether they need to buy an expensive program once in a while or work with a subscription. For us who are using these photo editing programs just as a drawing program it doesn't make any sense to pay a monthly fee. But We should alo realise that we are no market for Adobe. I will stick with my ancient Paint Shop Pro 7 version as long as my PC's operating system allows me. And after that I hope Gimp is still around..... Cheers, Huub

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FSX Skins Description: In the movie Flyboys the pilots from the Lafayette squadron are mostly fighting red Fokker Dr.1s and one black Fokker Dr.1. In reality the Lafayette squadron did not fight any Fokker Dr.1s and the Fokker were only painted red in the movie to make the easy to recognise for the audience watching the movie. In the movie there is one red Fokker with crossed swords painted on the fuselage. Most likely these swords were based on the swords which were painted on the Albatross D.II flown by VFw Erich Kohler from Jasta 9. The Fokker in the movie was flown by the fictional pilot Franz Wolferd a not so bad "bad guy". The black Fokker in the movie was flown by the non-existing "Black Falcon". The real bad guy, who of course was killed by the ultimate good guy, at the end of the movie. Enjoy, Huub June 2013 To check it out, rate it or add comments, visit Fokker Dr.1 from the movie Flyboys

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 3 Other Add-Ons - Effects Description: These files are required to activate the cockpit damage effects built into to some CFS3 models. Includes instructions on how to add the effects to existing models. Note - you need the Gmax source files to add these effects to aircraft models. Not an original idea by me but based on thoughts that have been floating around the cfs3 forums for years. To check it out, rate it or add comments, visit CFS3 cockpit damage effects pack.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 3 German Aircraft Description: Stand alone model of Dornier 5k+AR - "The Goodwin Sands Dornier" This aircraft was shot down on Monday 26 August 1940. 5K + AR was one of 7 carrying 16 x 50kg bombs tasked with bombing the Fighter Command airfields in the Medway area. Before reaching the target and flying above the clouds, 5K + AR aircraft became separated from the rest of the formation and lost its bearings. It was then attacked by Boulton Paul Defiants from 264 Sqn based at Hornchurch in Essex. Both engines and the cockpit were hit. With at least one of their engines stopped, a forced landing was made on the Goodwin Sands at low tide (1340 hrs). Of the vrew of 4, two survived the landing and spent the war in captivity. The Dornier lay on the sea bed for over 70 years, covered by the shifting sands for alot of that time. It has now been recovered by the RAF museum and is being preserved, the last known example of this type of aircraft. 3d Model by: Stephen Seybolt Paintwork by: Alessandro Biagi

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Skins - Other Description: This file contains 2 historic correct textures for Richard Alexander Van Hien's Fokker T.V. One depicts the 857 in pre-1940 colours with red-white-blue markings and the srcond livery depicts the same aircraft with the large orange markings which were introduced late 1939 to avoid confusion with British aircraft. Although the textures were originally done for FS2004, I assume they will work well on the coverted model in CFS2 as well. Enjoy, Huub
