Valleyfair is from a separate download. I see you're a fellow Minnesotan. You should check out this awesome MN scenery site: http://www.usscenes.com/flyinminnesota/ He's got a great page and there's water towers as well. Also don't forget "We love VFR region 2" for USA obstructions: https://flightsim.to/file/16674/we-love-vfr-region-2

(there's a compatibility file at the MN water tower page too if you use the VFR region 2 files).

    Absolutely incredible screenshots, DVJ!

These in no way compare, but just some shots from an unconventional flight from the St. Paul Downtown Airport over to Flying Cloud Airport, keeping out of MSP airspace.

Makes sense! But payware/freeware, where to get it? Anything military in the US with static aircraft would be highly appreciated! (a link/pointer to it anyway)

    wherefore art thou Navy Chief?

    Cheers,

"YAS"/yet another Spitfire? Just some stenciling to add to the lower wing and radiator fairings, and then I will have it uploaded. This depicts the current color scheme as seen on the restored Spitfire Mk.XVI RW382, based at Duxford (the real aircraft has the 'e' wing and the Mk.IX small rudder). It's painted in the markings of a Spitfire Mk.IXc named "Porky II", flown by Lt. Robert Connor of the USAAF 309th FS, 31st FG, which saw action in the Mediterranean Theatre.

These were some screenshots from the first flight in the sim.

Which one is the best so far?

Anyway I had departed Hilton Head today in the Longitude but life got in the way heh. My plan was to fly to TEB. I'll have to try another time.

Some more shots of the PilotEdge EAA Airventure Oshkosh scenery (which also includes many other locations associated with flying to/from the event). Other than some of the warbird parking being a bit off, I can tell those who worked on creating this scenery know Airventure very well!

Part of the nearby seaplane base, on Lake Winnebago. There is also a lot of static planes and camping added at the Fond du Lac Airport, just south of Oshkosh, which acts as the overflow field during Airventure.

Oh, I'll have to get that Oshkosh scenery. I can almost hear ATC yelling at the pilot, "We said the yellow dot, not the green dot!" :::Pilot adds power to land on the right dot:::. Too much going on here for me to make it there this year, but one of my best friends will be there for the whole week. I'll have to settle for all of the YouTube vids. It would be cool if Mike Patey had enough hours on Scrappy to get it there, but I don't see that happening. Everyone who is going, have fun! Ken

Flying the "Warbird Arrival" approach into the AirVenture Airshow at Oshkosh. The Warbird Arrival is setup as an alternative to the Fisk Arrival, for all higher performance aircraft that can't maintain the low minimum speed requirement of the Fisk Arrival. The Warbird Arrival requires reporting to ATC when over the city of Fond du Lac, located south of Oshkosh, flying at 2,800 ft. From there you are cleared to fly north up to "Warbird Island" to report again and gain clearance into Oshkosh (or instruction to hold/orbit), maintaining 2,800 ft. Once cleared at Warbird Island, you either start a descent to 1,800 ft (for a normal approach), or 2,300 ft for an overhead approach. Flying something like the Spitfire, an overhead is required, so 2,300 ft it is. The overhead of course entails flying directly over the runway and making the break to downwind, midfield. In my case, flying yesterday, it was for landing on runway 27.

Parked at Fond du Lac, which serves as a reliever/overflow airport during Airventure, when traffic going into KOSH gets too congested or temporarily halted.

Heading north from Fond du Lac, over Lake Winnebago

    Over "Warbird Island"

Flying the 2,300 ft overhead for runway 27

Setting up to land on the numbers
