    US dollar climbing

Last month, when I purchased AU:Blue, 30 AUD was 25 USD. This morning, when I looked at AU:Green, 30AUD was about 23 USD. Don't know how long this trend will continue, but in the short term I predict that add-ons are going to become slightly cheaper for US buyers (and of course US products will become slightly more expensive in other currencies).

I wish I had thae option or going back to work
So far this year my retirement accounts have lost over $45,000.
    I lost $7,000 yesterday alone

Then there was the $1.57 to 1 Euro that cost me a bundle during
my 7-week stint in Europe this past summer.

Bring back 2002 when the market was reasonably healthy and the
dollar and euro were about par....

It would be good for Airbus. Also for airlines as fuel costs are declining.

The upward trend of the US dollar is a nice thing to see, definitely.

But if indications come true, I've a feeling that direction will go the opposite direction, following this November's election.

I won't say anything more about this, but am sure you know what my poliitcal affliliation is.

The US is getting ready, I fear, to repeat the depression of 1929-33. But this one will be worse. Folks back then were much more self-suficient. People nowadays will riot and go into mass panic. I would not want to live in or near a large city, for example. My stepson lives in the Atlanta area. I've already told him to plan on leaving town when the s... hits the fan. It will be ugly.

I feel your pain harleyman. I had planned to retire next year but I'm going to wait for the market to go back up. I get paid a decent wage and I get 6 weeks vacation so I'm not going to rush into it

    Cool

Hope the Euro will gain again on the Dollar.

The low US Dollar gave us Dutch some kind of a benefit buying from American sites and vendors. The prices in Holland are rediciously high, even compared to our neighbours (software, movies, CD's, electronics, cloth etc, etc.).

Yes, unfortunately if one currency gains another loses, but we have on the bottom side so long we could use a break. Besides the upside of this is we will buy more European products for our hobby.:ernae: That is if there is anything left to spend when the Wall Street shysters are done with us.

Probably becuase they pay half of their earned income to their government. That's what happen's when you socialize your health care system........I could be wrong.
