    Saitek FIP

    Can't get this thing to work at all since getting a new PC. When I install the Saitek drivers, 7_0_34_109_64 it automatically installs in two separate locations ... C:/program files/Saitek/DirectUotPut and C:/program files (x86)/Saitek/DirectOutPut. Both folders have a DirectOutPut.dll of a different size. The DirectOutPut folder in program files (x86) contains the gauges and the SaiFlightSimX.exe, but the DirectOutPutSaiFip.dll (which I think it needs) is in the DirectOutPut folder in program files along with the advertising jpeg files. It must be using the one in program files as the advertising jpegs are the only things it displays. Surely, all these files should be installed in one location, with only one DirectOutPut.dll When I try to run the SaiFlightSimX.exe it says it needs it's side by side component which isn't present. It's asking for Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect.dll ver.10.0.60905.0. Well ... it's there. In turn I've put it in the main P3D folder, FSUIPC modules folder, the DirectOutPut folder, and finally in all three together, but still SaiFlightSimX.exe fails to find it. This is the entry in the exe.xml

    <Name>Saitek DirectOutput RadioStack</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\Saitek\DirectOutput\SaiFlightSimX.exe</Path>
    <CommandLine>-run</CommandLine>
    </Launch.Addon>
    </SimBase.Document>

    Any help on getting this panel to work would be greatly appreciated

    I run a full set of Saitek panels (+ throttle quadrant + trimwheel) with no problems, but I use the SPAD drivers. Have you tried that?

    Yes Mark, I use the SPAD drivers for my switch panel, but am given to understand that they will NOT work with the flight instrument panel.
    Thanks anyway.

    Are you possibly running the USB through a HUB? I know from experience that the Switch panel (in my case) does not like the HUB at all and has to go direct to the PC. The rest Radios, Muti and Throttles are quite happy in the HUB.

    No, direct connection to PC. It appears to be unable to make a connection to the simconnect.dll even though the ver. it's asking for is there.

    Just in case anyone else is having trouble getting their Saitek fip to work in P3D, this worked for me. Despite the fact that Saitek say their latest drivers are fully compatible with P3D, they certainly weren't for me. As a last resort, I installed Microsoft FSX and acceleration (which had never been on this PC) and the fip worked straight away in both FSX and P3D. I then uninstalled FSX and the Saitek fip continues to work as advertised in P3D 2.5. Obviously, the Saitek drivers are not installing whatever component it requires from FSX.

    Good find, and heck, what an awkward way to make this work!
