Thread: FSX: The 1940 Fokker T.5 bomber released

    I think next big step is electrical system. In fact, I only need to have:
    - A logic systems behaviour: electric systems won't work when there's not (enough) electricity;
    - A working charging-discharging total load amps gauge (same kind of thing have me headache with my D.21);
    - Generator 1 and 2 amps gauge
    - Main bus voltage gauge
    - Fiveway switch: Battery, Gen 2, Both Gen, Gen 1, Off.

    That's it. Item 2 is the most difficult, I guess. And there's the fact that I don't fully understand electricity yet... (don't tell anybody)

    Anyway, I've also been playing with sounds. I recorded them from a 25-year old radio, a YT video about Russian helicopters, a bottle of wine and a bicycle lock. To show the plane in action, I made a video. Somehow Fraps completely spoiled my framerate, sometimes even reducing it from 25 to 2! That's why the landing isn't perfect.

    it looks pretty nice Do you have a planned release date?

  6. #306
    Really looking forward to adding this beauty to my hangar.

    Thanks guys!

    Well, a release date... It's difficult since the VC would consist of the complete interior of the aircraft, since all crew compartments were connected and not physically separated. I finished the nose section and the radio compartment. Need to do the tailgunner completely and the mid gunner partly.

    However, beta isn't far away! I might consider an open beta.

    Hi there,

    I just posted there is a beta kinda planned. Got already one offer for testing, and that made me thinking.

    If there are people who want to test things, let me know. Preferably experience in beta testing, airplanes of the era, or even Dutch.

    Cheers, Daan

    I currently have no ongoing beta projects, so if you need any help... Not a lot of free time currently but for the T.V I'll try to make some time.

    1. Google Drive decided to stop their hosting services. So I should try another thing.
    2. First official beta is being distributed tonight! I'm curious for the results. So gentlemen, please expect a WeTransfer! ;-)

    no pictures but as proud and (hopefully experienced) beta tester i can say WOW that looks great,but more over fly's right ( so not that easy boy's ) to that 1930'2 time ( to all my knowledge) .Only problem is if you like planes with more then one round engine you get a bit adicted to it

    my five cents

    It looks outstanding I have to say!
    You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
    For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

    Whoow! she's a beauty, my dad build me one out of wood, carton, paper, wire and plastic when I was youngster. The wingspan of that model must have been something like 1.20 meter.
    I am really looking forward to taking the virtual one to the skies the best of 35 years later

    That's interesting Marijn! Do you still have it

    Guys (especially beta people), here's a question, regarding new floor textures: do these look better than the ones in the beta? (raw shot from blender)

    I'm rearranging the interior textures... Lots of work.

    Yep, the model is still alive, somewhere in a dark corner of the attic. It had working ailerons and rudder and so on, when you moved them the stick in the cockpit would move as well. Or you could stick your finger through the (open) window and work the stick itself
    He also built a Lockheed 14 Electra, a Dc-4, a really huge Dewoitine 520 (like 1.60 in spanwidth) and a billion other smaller or bigger models, warships, planes ( Fokker d-21, A fokker G-1, Saab Safir) All built from cardboard, paper and wood. You can imagine how much fun I had as a kid. Later on we worked on a scaled up version of the Veritas cardmodel of the Karel Doorman. It turned out to be almost 2 meters long. But not as big as the one in the Airforce Museum in Soesterberg though!

    I showed him your T-5 on the computer and he went nuts, now I have to install flight simulator on his own computer so he could try it out
    Will have to wait a bit though, maybe he can start with the D-21

    I think it does look better Daan! More detail for sure.
