    Cool Analog vs Digital

    Analog vs digital

Top photo was pretty much unchanged until the late 1980's when a third workstation was added, equipment modernized and before headsets came into common use.

Lower photo is a new installation at CYOW - digitized ground traffic displays, electronic flight strips, touch-screen interfaces. Workstations can be re-configured electronically with a menu-based system to combine 2, 3 or four into one (for example to combine TWR, GND and CLX for a midnight shift).
What a difference a day makes (or rather, 50 years) and a desire to progress.

What are those big round analogs gauges on the 1960's panel? Wind speed, direction, and barometric pressure maybe?
