Dutch Catalinas over the South Pacific.

New textures by UncleTgt for Shessi's Catalina. (they are for cfs2, but also work perfect in FS9)

    Cheers,

UT does some great tex, and those pics are nicely atmospheric.

And..I'm in the process of finally putting the PBY-5A amphibian together...so there'll be another one to play with...

    Hi Vinci,

No doubt about the fact ACWai's Me262 is great, however the one in my picture is the (payware) Flight Replicas Me262. The repaint for the T-33 is a repaint done by HenryW, who has done several very nice repaints for the T-33. They are all available here in the library. Just do a search on the userid HenryW. However they are done for FSX, so to use them you need to reduce the size to 1024x1024 and you need to convert them from (flipped) .dds format into extended .bmp format.

    Cheers,
    Huub

Fine jets there Huub, Arado by Shockwave and Meteor by Alpha im guessing Morton's CFS2 Meteor skins work very nicely on the FS9 Meatbox.

    More jets....

Indeed Ian, It is the Arado from Wings of Power and the Alphasim Meteor, with CFS2 textures by Morton.

Below the other Arado Ar234. I left the pods on the wings to show the difference.

    Not really jets

The Me 163 was a rocket driven aircraft and therefore not really a jet!

Priller is correct, it is the Focke-Wulf Ta183 Huckebein which was one of the models on the CD "Heavy bombers & Jets" by Shockwave/A2A. I don't think it's available anymore, but perhaps you are able to find a secondhand copy of this CD.

Although the aircraft didn't play any significant role it the war it most likely had a lot of influence on post war developed aircraft like the FMA IAe 33 Pulqui II (also designed by Kurt Tank), the Russian MiG-9 and MiG-15, American Republic F-84F, the Swedish SAAB 29, and the French Dassault Ouragan and Mystère.

    Some additional Jets

The skyunlimited Horten Ho 229, but with an alternative texture, (I can't remember who did it).

As a free alternative I can recommend Allen's CFS2 Hortens. Here the nightfighter.

As the above picture is quite dark

Beautiful screen shots Huub! Say what water textures do you use, mine looks nothing like yours.

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for the nice words. The question about the water has been asked many many times before. As I have been modifying my FS9 installs too often, I simply don't know. I think the oceanHeigh texture is from Golden Wings. There are many alternative water sets available. But the all have their strong and weak sides. With these textures the seas in my area look quite natural, but I for instance hate the way the Mediterranean looks. As I really didn't know what I had done I copied these textures from an old install on my previous PC.

But it is more or a matter of experimenting until you are satisfied.

    Cheers,
    Huub

    Stoney,
I know what you're saying, and I've asked the same of Huub before. So I took Huub's advice and went on a quest for better water etc. As said there are a lot of water sets out there, and part of overall improvement packages. I've tried a lot from Flightsim and Avsim. There are quite a few old/older packs that are good, and the great thing is that just back up your orig water tex and swap to see which ones you like the best.

IMO for Euro water, Huub's does look one of the best though, with that consistant grey/green Noordzee look.

    Cheers

I knew the Germans had a secret weapon which made them invisible for sonar!

Isn't it great to see them fly in formation?

    For Herzie

Herzie made me aware that there were no Royal Netherlands Air Force repaints available for the single seat Gloster Meteors. As the Royal Netherlands Air Force had roughly 250 Meteors in their service I decided to put the Gloster on my ever growing to-do list.

Just as proof, I do sometimes do something with jets and that things sometimes get done from my to-do list a work in progress shot from the Alphasim Meteor Mk.8.

A Merry Christmas to all of you!
    Huub
