    A.F. Scrub Spitfire MK5c trop & MK5b

Hi my friends , like other times , i´m trying to bring new models from other sites, that we can convert and reupload to our sim.
One more time Mr. Scrub share new models or better to say special models.
I´m working in several fields , like panel, textures conv, dp, air & aircraft files.
After all this, i´ll request permission to upload to Mr. Scrub
I have to say also that i like very much both models (is important to say it, because isn´t just a post).

    Hi Mission,

May I ask how are the frame rates with these planes?

    Kind regards,

    Typhoon,

Not to worry...if they are FPS heavy, (they're likely not multi-lod) the stalwart CFS2 Spitfires by Brunosk are still kings of the hill. :ernae:

    Misson,

I beg to differ, my friend!

    BSK_Spitfires_Trop.zip: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...tid=50&id=6225

Supermarine Spitfire MkV Trop - Malta

"This package contains two models, one for the MkV B and one for the MkV C. The difference is in the wings, the “B wing” having one 20 mm cannon and 2 0.303 machine guns, whereas the “C wing” had 2 cannons instead of one."

    BSK_Spitfires_Non_Trop.zip: http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...tid=50&id=6226

    Supermarine Spitfire MkV - Malta

"This new package contains two models of “non tropical” Spitfires MkV, again both representing aircraft flown in Malta. One is a “LF”, clipped wings, low altitude version, and the other a “standard” MkV C but with the two outboard 20 mm cannon removed as was often the case."

I can not see a model with tropical filter and 4 20mm canons at the same time (also tropical filter and wings clipped at sametime), no talk about skins!

    You are welcome T.W.

Mr. Scrub gave permission, but the plane is geting better, with some improvments like a gunsight crosshair , that i couldnt include it in the texture , so i did it in the cfg panel for his use in virtual cockpit and in the 2d panel using shift+4 (display/hide window 4) .
I would like it be like some Rabafaut planes , that uses the Gunsight64.bmp file in the main cfs2/texture folder, but it was made or included in the self model (i dont know how), but by this way we can add crosshair to many converted planes that need it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWjY9...ature=youtu.be set your utube config to top quality view to see the crosshair.

    TW,

even more fps performing are good ole' Merlin66's YAS Spitfire MkVb Trop and MkVc Trop with clipped wings.

Unfortunately, there isn't a YAS MkVc Trop model armed with four 20mm cannons, but that can be conjured up with gun tubes, if needs be.

    Cheers!

Hi Mav, glad you make it work using stock texture gunsight, how did u added it? did u make it in the model by scasm?
by the way icant understand why it does work for me? perhaps is because i use cfs1 keys setting.
Just be sure to use display/hide window 4 key.

Hi Mission, yep... been scasm coded into the mdl, it's not going anywhere... it's now part of the model.

Mind you just noticed Bruno's spits are missing a gunsights as well...................

    Hi everybody!

I had the time over the weekend to install this beautiful addon and check it out. Since the pack includes one of my old outdated prop textures, I set out to place an updated texture on these Spit noses.

First of all congratulations for the excellent sound pack! One of the best Merlin sounds I ever heard, compared to real-life restored warbird documentaries, it sounds almost the same!

On the other hand, I noticed that the radiator flap animation doesn't work on the tropicalised version. When I started working on the exhaust effects, a close look showed that, in the magnificent repainted skins, the exhaust smoke stain on the fuselage starts below the exhaust stubs and the gunsmoke stains on the wings are are also slightly off the gun fairings.

I believe the flight model is slightly off as well, since this aircraft has rather brutal stall and spin characteristics, even for a clipped-wing Spitfire, with reduced wing area.
As I bled speed to get in the landing groove, the aircraft became unstable below 120 mph, even with extended flaps and additional elevator trim to keep the stick balanced. As soon as I lowered the undecarriage, the nose dropped so violently it suprised me, while the stall warning light came on well above 100 mph, with a sudden and strong spin attitude to port.
Only stomping hard on the rudder starboard pedal, counteracting the combined spin + sudden torque direction with the stick and firewalling the throttle, kept me from crashing before reaching the runway. It took me a few seconds to calm down and go for a second landing attempt, this time at much higher speed, I nearly overrun the runway and almost flipped the aircraft on her nose by braking hard.

I only experienced such behaviour flying laminar-flow winged aircrafts such as Mustangs or Tempests, but that was expected due to laminar-flow wing profile bad behaviour at low speeds. This violent flying attitude really surprised me on a Spitfire, whose sweet-flying characteristics are granted by her large wing base!!
I fly with the flight model set on "hard", but I never landed faster than 85-90 mph on a Spitfire before, regardless of the mark. Slightly faster perhaps with heavier Griffon-engined marks, yet often times getting a nice three-point attitude, even though all Spitfire flight manuals prescribe, in order to avoid bouncing, touching down on the main gear first and then let the tailwheel set down gently.

    Impossible on this LF Vb/c!

    Cheers!
