    Flyable (with VC) F6f Hellcat

Just wondering if anyone knows of a flyable F6f Hellcat for FSX. This can be an FS9 portover, but I've already tried the Fightertown Design Groups Hellcat and it isn't compatible (FSX won't display the exterior model and the aircraft.cfg file only contains about a third of the normal FS9/FSX information).

    Thanks!:salute:

I'm not aware of any freeware FSX Hellcat models, but this payware one is available http://www.vertigostudios.co.uk/hellcat

    Cheers,

I've been looking too, but only found the Vertigo payware one.
Rats - why won't anything work properly first time?

Paul, I'm afraid that's the same one. RealFlight was the original name of Vertigo.

The CWD Classic Warbird Designs F6f for Fs-9 works well

    I wouldn't recommend a payware FS9 plane.
For the freewares, I don't know if the default CFS2 Hellcat has been adapted to FSX or not yet, but it's the only "freeware" Hellcat I know about (and I loved it back in my FS9 days).
For FSX I switched recently to the Vertigo Hellcat, which is payware. It has a very nice VC with nice texturing inside. I don't really like the engine sounds, though.

    Anybody tried this one ?

It's the "overhauled" Hellcat model for CFS2, I don't know if it works in FSX, but I'm downloading it right now for a try.

EDIT: Nope ! "Impossible to display the model" :/

Looked at the website and the "Purchase" button is a dead link now. Went to Simmarket, which is originally where it was available and the company is no longer listed.:salute:

Well the next question is anybody working on one freeware or payware?

What's wrong with the one from Vertigo ?

I don't need one bad enough to pay $33.00, especially from them. I was only trying to check the other site/simmarket to see what that one was selling for. I have enough other Warbirds to be content. I was interested in the F6f but only from a freeware standpoint.

    Ouch !! Now I understand.
I forgot this plane was so expensive. If I remember correctly, I got mine during a sale or something like that.

To go back to freeware, well it seems there are no freeware Hellcats yet for FSX. The stock-CFS2 (and its overhauled variant) was the best option for FS9, but this option is gone with FSX

Thanks Daube. I may have found a suitable replacement...basically it's FS9 quality for $10.00, lol...Abacus has one "Try before you Buy".

    HarleyDude

In reference to your request for a freeware F6F hellcat. I found one on one of the freeware sites, I don't remenber which one but it was listed under J.R. Lucariny and its a model of a F6F-5 Hellcat for FS2002/2004. I run FSX standard and the plane works well for me. It even has folding wings. Hope this helps. I'm looking for a TBF or TBM freeware myself.

Thanks, as per my original post, I'm looking for one with a VC...most of his aircraft did not have a VC. :salute:
