Having bopth a Pentax and Nikon DSLR, I can say that the Pentax cannot begin to perform at high ISO levels like the Nikon. Good shots.
Thanks

NO! photographer ever has every shot come out perfect. The experienced photographer just has a better idea of what he and the camera can do. I would say the biggest error experienced DSLR photographers make is keeping the shutter speed to low. You can get away with it in a 6, 8, 10 MP point and shoot, but not with a 24 mp DSLR. The old rule of shutter speed equals the focal length of the lens should be doubled with that camera. If you are shooting at 100mm the shutter speed should be at least 1/200 of a sec.
It is always better to have a noisy picture than a blurry one. Post processing can help with noise, but not with out of focus or camera shake.

In regards to noise, there are many noise programs out there, but the one I prefer is Neat Image, http://www.neatimage.com/. It comes as a stand-alone program, but you can also get it as a plug-in for Photoshop.
