Virtavia He-111 on sale at PC Aviator

Hey all,

This might be too late for some of you. This has been on sale for a week and is probably over in a few hours.

I have wanted this baby for ages and finally got it. Just over $12.00 USD on sale price.

The design has always impressed me. We had one at a local museum here (which crashed a couple of years ago, all souls lost on board). The interior was so different then the regular aircraft. Its sort of like a very tiny version of a B-29 and a C-46 mixed together.

Great sound pack, and a very wild floating wing sensation with roll input. She takes off faster then a B-17 and very similar as well, lifting up as though it had STOVL lift thrusters engaged, pushing it up and forward.

Awesome cockpit... What a wild plane to fly. The Germans were amazing engineers. (I guess they still are, lol... Just saying, some incredible designs).

I've had this aircraft for a while, but only recently reinstalled and took it up for a few flights.

The detail is amazing! Truly one of their best working VCs. The pop up windows are extremely useful and in authentic metric/German markings. The sound pack is very nice as well.

However, you mentioned a very tame takeoff. I've had the opposite. With a full bomb and fuel load, it's a real bear. I've had to reduce the fuel load in order to get off the grass fields and be very gentle in the climb.

Fuel tank management is also functional. I got caught with my right aux tank empty (right engine died) and a left aux that was full. It flew left wing down and required some trim and special handling. Lastly, the smoke effects looks just like a wounded He-111 returning from a raid over London. Even with the featherable props.

This is a must grab!

Have just purchased the above from PC Aviator, great aircraft and a pleasure to fly however, I have the following problems;

As soon as the aircraft starts to roll and you apply the brakes it noses in and crashes, regardless of the speed it is doing.


I cannot open the cfg file to find out what load it is carrying, I believe ( no load at all ) as I have looked into the bomb compartment and nothing.

When I attempt to get into the cfg file it tells me that because it is an email attachment it will not open?

As I say great aircraft but because of the brake issue somewhat unflyable, also because of this Centre Of Gravity issue as soon as the nose starts to drop you have to rotate immediately or again you nose in.

compartment and nothing.
When I attempt to get into the cfg file it tells me that because it is an email attachment it will not open?. . . . . .

Strange, you should be able to use "notepad" to open the cfg files. Right click on the aircraft.cfg file, select "open with" and then you should be able to select "notepad", or at least "browse" to the Windows directory and find notepad that way.:salute:

Somehow, I screwed up, and did not send the correct update to the Boss. The update in the package is not correct, sorry for the slip up!

My CFG is dated 2/12/11 and I have yet to find the time to fly the plane. I'd like to have the latest and greatest but perhaps this CFG is the latest.

Mine's dated back to september 2007, and it feels like nothing described above... I'm happy with it though! Hard to get off the ground with a full load, but much easier if I take out a bit of fuel and weight first.

I've PM'd Mal for the latest cfg. Mine is dated 2/12/11. The He-111 wallows badly from side to side when landing, I'm unable to make an effective landing. Unless that's normal and I need more practice, please post an opinion if you wish.
