    Exploring an airfield

My mate is doing a history degree and he has decided to do his dissertation on ww2 installations. We went on a journey yesterday to an ex-raf airfield in the north of the IOM. There are many relics left over from the ww2 years and most of the original buildings are still there in some form or another. We got permission to explore the whole airfield at a later date but we had a quick skeet and came across here, Flight control and what looks like a parachute room:

This airfield is in a remote location and although there are industrial sites using parts of it, a lot is left untouched, we noticed furniture containing items looking through the windows of the control room and what looked like a gas mask.

This was also a gunnery school, the old emplacements have been left untouched but are completely overgrown (may be a good thing as it may have helped preserve anything there)

    Further investigations will ensue!!
