    Question Jumpy Framerate

Hey guys, I just got FSX up and running, but my framerate jumps all over the place, and I'm not sure why, I had to uninstall GEX cause it made my framerates even worse I don't understand it, I would assume my comp is powerful enough, here are the specs:

    Win XPx64
    Intel Q9650 @ Stock
    Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 X2 @ stock
    4GB Mushkin DDR3-1600 @ 7-7-6-18
    and a 24" LG Flat panel monitor @ 1920x1200

Do you have your frame rate set at unlimited? If so set it to 25-30 fps.

You have plenty of power for FSX without a doubt...
And as Kilo said...Locked is better..That way your CPU and mem are working now,not thinking / building what you can't see anyways...

The main reason for my post here is...

The new 8.12 driver is out now.....And I find that running my 4870X2 fan at al least 80% helps keep it nice and cool.....

Plus if you have been using Riva Tuner or ATI tray Tools they are not needed with the newest drivers 8.10 and up....Unless you have a specific need for doing so......Like shimmers you can't get rid of...
