Not sure anyone else flies this bird but she's a fast one and well done.

Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Perhaps white 3 flown by Obfw. Günther Seeger will join in the near future giving the 7./JG53 a small majority again......

But very nice shots Bob, and thanks for sharing and your interest in my repaints.

    Cheers,
    Huub

PS I noticed you are flying the repaints on the Bf-109 G6 with the DF Loop antenna. However 7./JG53 flew the early version without this device.

Thanks Huub. Yea, I couldn't get the paint to show without changing the model in the config.

I love this little amphibian but the pilot figure ruins it. When you look at the pilot texture sheet you will understand why, lots of little jagged pieces make up the pilot.

Here is a small part of the pilot texture sheet.

I have tried to improve the pilots appearance but have had limited success so far.

Fighters which became obsolete at the dawn of WWII

The Heinkel He51 entered service in 1933 and left active service as a fighter in 1938, but remained in use by the Spanish Air Force until 1952.

The Hawker Fury entered service in 1931. And her frontline service with the RAF ended in 1939, when she was replaced by the Gloster Gladiator(!) and the Hawker Hurricane. In 1940 the Fury was still in use by several other air forces and were in front-line use by the South African Air Force against the Italians in East Africa in 1941

The all metal Dewoitine D500-D510 enter service in the French l'Armee de l'Air in 1935. The aircraft was replaced by the more capable Morane-Saulnier MS406 in 1939. Although the Dewoitne was sold to several countries. It didn't play any significant role after 1939.

The metal Boeing P-26 Peashooter enter service with the USAAC in december 1933 and were the front line fighter of the USAAC until 1938 when the P-35 and the P-36 started to replace them. The last user of the Peashooter was the Fuerza Aérea Guatemalteca (Guatemalan Air Force), where the final pair remained in military service until 1956, when they were replaced by P-51 Mustangs

Although a beautiful aircraft, but Cees Donker's Fokker D.16 doesn't really fit in this row as the D.16 had already been replaced by the Fokker D.17, which was already replaced by the Fokker D.21 in 1938.

    Cheers,
    Huub

You can see the Hurricane lineage in the Fury.

Where can I get this? I have the bubble canopy Chipmunk and this would make a perfect stablemate.

    Lelystad and Mustangs

Damn Yankee and Trusty Rusty, the two airworthy P51s in the Netherland. Trusty rusty is owned by the Early Birds foundation and Lelystad is her home base. Damn Yankee stays at Lelystand in the summer, but moves to Oosterwold in winter.

Damn Yankee, a repaint by Marcel Ritzema for the Warbirdsim Mustang. (I only made the canopy a bit greener as Damn yankee still has a greenish low racing canopy)

Trusty Rusty from the Vroege Vogels (Early Birds). The repaint is by JanKees for the Warbirdsim Mustang, but not fully accurate as it was made before the P51 was actually finished.

    The airfield is by Aerosoft

    Cheers,
    Huub
