Nice Shot, Kevin. Been flying it a wee bit also
with the help of AH customer service I have the Globe Swift out for a few turns again finally
Thank You!
There was a Globe Swift just like this one that would come to the Gillespie Field annual airshow..still does I think.
In the late 1930s, Finnish airline Aero O/Y ordered two Fw 200A Condor airliners with an option for a third at a later date. Due to wartime considerations, they were never delivered having been diverted to the Lufthansa and the Luftwaffe as Fw 200D transports.
Dai Nippon of Japan ordered 5, but those were eventually completed as Fw 200C patrol bombers for the Luftwaffe.
KLM was in talks with Focke Wulf about ordering 9 Condors for their Amsterdam to Jakarta route, but never actually ordered them due being more interested in the Boeing B307 Stratoliner. The talks were far enough along though that werk numbers for the nine were set aside (later used for other Condors)
And Focke Wulf also penciled in the Lufthansa Asian subsidary Eurasia for about four Condors that were never delivered.
Yeah, I went there. This paint is based on a photo a model of Condor in Aero O/Y livery and liveries worn by Ju 52s and DC-2s that they actually flew in that time period. This one eventually became Fw 200D-1 D-AEQP Kurmark of Lufthansa.
