    The Free Flight Site

Thanks to members like Smilo, Ivan, Hubba, Minuteman ect... The Freeflightsite has built up to an amazing following. If you have not checked it out in a while, you may be suprised.
I have been busy in the world of making a buck, but hope to upload more this weekend.

Just uploaded AF for both CFS1 and 2.

    Stay Safe and forever young.

    Hey Smilo,

I have actually been there a bunch of times, but I figured there might be some lurkers or new folks who don't already know how to get there. There is some interesting stuff, but I am kinda short on time to just do some lazy flying.

I am running into a few problems with my scenery at the 40% line and have yet to figure it out. Any help will be much appreciated.

    jeez, sorry Dave, i'm swamped,
    at least for now.

i recall a few years ago,
there was a site called Camel Kings.
it was dedicated to CFS WWI.
there was lots of neat stuff there.
i hope the stuff i downloaded
isn't on that hard drive that crapped out.
i'll dig around in a bit.

i googled it and found nothing.
they must have let it go.
too bad, it was a good one.

    -----------IDIOT ALERT!------------

    i just remembered,
    they spelled it Kamel Kings
    here the link;

    apparently, someone is...:salute:
    ...very nice

the AAC has flown a few missions in WWI aircraft,
    (see Hubba's Sopwith Camel package)
but all in all, i think most of the remaining CFSers
prefer the WWII stuff, but i could be wrong.

I, for one, think that CFS1 is perfect for WWI aerodynamics. I have redone a few string bags' AIR files and, from time to time, have QC with Sopwith Triplane against Albatross D-III and vice-versa.

Go fly Ivan's Fokker E-III and shoot a few cuckoos with it and you will get some appreciation of the "close and personal" form of combat it was. The problem is simply that too many downloads are good to passable for the looks but rotten when it comes to WWI aerodynamics.
Torture numbers and they'll say anything.

    Hubbabubba, Touche à tout.

There are a couple gotchas with CFS and WW1 Aeroplanes. These things were light and flimsy. Their engines were light and could spin very easily. To really get an engine to run, you need rotation (provided by starter or airstream), fuel, and spark. This isn't reflected in CFS because even with all three, you still need to "Start" the engine. With the rotaries and their lack of throttle control, this is important. With more modern stuff, it isn't.

    Hubbabubba,
How does the Eindecker stack up against the other planes you have tried? I find this thing quite difficult to fly well even though I did not leave all the documented bad behaviours in it.

Added quite a few missions that match up with many of the planes in the Aircraft sections

    Hi No Dice,

I noticed that you added quite a lot to the developer section at your site.

    Cool Stuff!

    Well Thank You Ivan,
That is what I am attempting to make the site all about, before it can no longer be found elseware.

Luv ya Smilo, I have been trying to put a tu-tu on my avtar but she will not stay put long enough. Southern Sardinia followed by Southern Italy is actually my favorites.

I was preparing to mail you a CD in case the DL's were to bad, then I remembered FS9 on your comp. Hubba , if you're out there, I will mail a CD to you to avoid the big downloads.

Hope I live long enough to finish Sicily and North Africa.

the download only took a minute or two.
but for some reason, my machine will not
allow me to look at online pdfs.
i get a black page when i click on the map
    ...really sucks.
don't worry, it isn't your site.
i get the black pdf page all the time.

btw, still waiting for the gearless wonder.

    oh yeah,
    when you finish africa,
i've got a little project for you...
    the aleutians
can't forget about the thousand mile war.
of course, we'll have to find someone
    to build a mavis, too.
the first p-38 kill of the war.

no offense, but i'm beginning to wonder
if my email doesn't like you.
    what message are you getting?

i got this message on 7/31
    for those 2 big attachments you sent me;
"Windows Live Hotmail has blocked some attachments
in this message because they appear to be unsafe."

this is odd, i get attachments from Ivan all the time.
no problem, except he is having problems with yahoo.

i have a mediafire account if you want to go that route.
