    Alpha Jet VC

Working on redoing the VC on the outstanding Alpha Jet. It's a WIP right now, but it's getting there. Still have to add shadowing under the Glare Shield and additional details where possible.

Yes. . .I'm saving the FSX version in DDS, but since the actual layered version is able to be saved in any format, I'll make a set that's 1024x1024 32bit for FS9. The current layered set is 4096x4096.:salute:

One final shot. Just about everything I can do has been done now. Tomorrow, I'll get the final textures saved and zipped up and get it all loaded on the downloads section here.

You could try to alpha channel him out, but this might have negative consequences.

Yea, very true. Too bad there isn't just a keystroke that would eliminate him. Ah well, it's a minor thing really, just thought it would be nice to be able to take him out if you wanted to.

I expect the pilot is 3D object and as such he is coded as part of the cockpit.

Probably this weekend sometime. I've been working on a beta model to get it back to the designer and since that was on a timeline, I haven't spent much time on the Alphajet lately.:salute:

Only if it has a <mouserect> and <visibility> tag. And that's entirely up to the designer.</visibility></mouserect>

Because of this being a portover and some liveries are DDS and some 32bit or DXT3, I'll include both. The other factor to consider. . . .I did the original changes at 4096x4096 and I know there are probably some that can't run that size, so I'll include a set that's 1024x1024 as well.

I'm also doing a straight set for FS9 which will be 1024x1024 32bit.:salute:

Keep up the good work! I'm looking forward to trying this one in formation, I know people have been able to do great things with the current flight model... now it will be bearable to enjoy the aircraft from the VC.

    FSX Version of the model?

Can anyone point out where the FSX version of the Alphajet model is available? Thanks!

  21. #21
There isn't an FSX model. It's a FS9 portover that works real well. I got mine at flightsim.com. Search for alphajet or my name and my repaint will come up. The required file is annotated in the read me file.

    Thanks Falcon

    Nicely done...as always :salute:
