    Best FSX video of 2010

    Hi Guys,

I have begun a thread which I hope will document the best FSX video of 2010, decided by the members of SOH . You can nominate a video by posting a link on this thread, and if it lasts long enough, on New Years eve NZ time, I will tally up all the videos and announce which one had the most nominations! The videos can be product videos, story videos, basically any video related to FSX!

I nominate Cody Valkyrie's ORBX KORS Orcas Is. video "A moment in time"

Sorry I do not know how to embed a You Tube video, can someone tell me how please?

    A little self-promotion here:

To embed a video, copy the url of the video to your computer's clipboard. Then open the message window for posting a message to the SOH forum. When you're typing in your message, click on the little icon that looks like a little film strip. The code for embedding the video will be inserted into your message. The "I" bar will be flashing. Hit ctrl+v to paste the url into the space in between the two parts of the code. Preview your message and you should see the video embedded in your post. Submit the post.

Sorry, I don't have any FSX videos to contribute to this post...but I must say I will keep an eye on this thread. Very much like a "show us your screenshots" thread...but with moving pictures!

The first video...the Orcas Island "A Moment In Time"....breathtaking. It nearly brought tears to my eyes...and would have IF the animation was restarted while the US and Canadian flags were the focus of the video. Show them frozen in time, then as they cross the center of the screen during the pan they start flapping in the wind. That would have taken the video up a couple of notches and made my eyes tear up with national pride. I know, I know...armchair directors are a dime a dozen now days.

The second video, "The Ditching" was really cool. It was a glimpse into a real life historical event, shown through the "magic" of MS Flight Simulator and other animation programs. I really liked the cut scene/flash back to the gunnery practice. Very well done video.

Do you think the mods might be able to sticky this until January 1st 2011? Please? I see great things coming to this thread.

I can barely remember any videos from 2010. This is the only one I watched more than once though so it would be my nomination -

    .

There were a few of the usual self-conscious and pretentious commercial ones but nothing that made me go wow (or want to buy anything).

One thing that always makes me chuckle though, as someone who has worked in the industry from time to time over the past twenty years is when people refer to them as 'films' or 'movies'

I'm pretty well an FAN of the A2A, Mirage, and Cody videos myself. I haven't seen too many videos besides these that would make me want to buy anything either.
