    PB4Y-2 Privateer

I have been searching the internet in every place looking for a Privateer model for FSX and all i can find is one in full military version in payware. I am a HUGE airtanker fan and i wonder if anyone would be interested in building a civilian airtanker type model for FSX?
The Privateer has an amazing history to it but the aircraft is now disappearing and does not have a spot to remember it in FSX. It had one of the (if not the) longest career as an airtanker which spanned 43 years and abruptly ended in 2002 after the crash of Tanker 123.
Around 1970 the privateers underwent modifications with the addition of the B-25 Mitchell 1,700hp Wright R-2600-92 engines and cowlings making it the Super Privateer. I recentley visited maybe the last Tanker version left (Tanker 124) from Hawkins and Powers held at the Yanks Air Museum. I have a full walk around and walk in if a designer is interested in photos. Well i hope this sparks interest in one of you talented designers :salute: Thanks

I've been dreaming of a PB4Y air tanker for a long time! Would be very cool! As a kid I always loved the main gear, retracting outboard as it thundered over my head at the end of the runway. Ahh, memories.

To spur the imagination and inspire any designers out there... here's a video with some good footage of Tanker 123 (RIP) at work. The song may be an acquired taste (since it's a tribute song to the crew I like it) but the clips are good.

Guys, the WOP PBY is a payware aircraft. As such it is illegal to be shared in this way. Privateer sharing payware aircraft is against the Terms of Service (TOS) agreement of SOH. What you did was wrong.

tankerguy72 in accepting this modified payware you too have violated the TOS. You should contact A2A and work up a payment for the aircraft.

Since this isn't my forum, I can't remove the link. However, I will recommend that it be removed. If you think I am jumping to conclusions, please say something fast. Being a pirate will get you kicked out of SOH faster than anything else.

    Thumbs up

This could be a serious problem tankerguy72!!
And more so for you Privateer.

We do not look favourably on any form of piracy, and what we have here is a 'Wings of Power' Payware aircraft, modified by one person and passed on to a second, in the spirit of helping out a fellow simmer I'm sure, but bordering on the edge of either a severe reprimand or even a ban.
Perhaps contacting Scott at A2A (formerly WOP) and reaching some type of agreement re using the Privateer as a base for the fire bomber would be in order, especially if it is passed on to even a single SOH member.
Sorry guys, but rules is rules.
