A Secret Boeing Strike Vehicle program is in production....

In one of the Farnborough reports at AvWeek, it reports that Boeing has a secret strike program in production.

Any bets on whether or not it is the Boeing Model 119?

It's also interesting to note in that article that EADS states that the Super Hornet is one of the stealthiest fighters out there, of the reduced observability conventional designs. As opposed to aircraft designed for all out LO from the start.

    Hey Sundog,

Do you mean the sleek flying wing they have? I googled the 119 and couldnt find it. I am not familiar with it. Do you have a pic?

There's no pic of it, as it's still classified. Now the vehicle in the job description has a pilot and WSO and manually folding wings and is referred to as the Boeing model 119. We also know, to about 95% probability, that one of the manned aircraft that has flown at Groom Lake is the YF-24. Now, whether or not it is the same as the Boeing model 119, I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised.

But, like you, I'm looking forward to seeing it and I would think we'll see it within a few years. I say that, because now that it's in production, they'll have to train with operational squadrons to integrate it into the force structure, much like they did with the F-117.

It's good to see the human element is still being used in aircraft. This whole UAV thing is starting to really scare me. The human element is very important and I fear is being lost in the current thought process.
