    In Flanders Fields...

    In Flanders Fields ...

In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below...

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields...

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields...

Lieutenant Colonel John Alexander McCrae, born on November 30, 1872, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada - died on January 28, 1918, in Boulogne, France.

I give a humble salute to those honored on the 11th of November. To those who the day was first dedicated to, the fallen of the First World War, and to all the veterans both living and passed on.

    Poppies

    ~S~ Humbles,

Yes we do and we only have one WWI Dough-boy left. There was a parade in Poplarville, Mississippi to honor the veterans of all wars.

The red poppy, whether by chance or purpose was the right choice. The color of blood and the source of heroin. Heroin, it has been said, makes hero's of those who used it.
