This has been my favorite modern plane for carrier work for some time (I can actually trap occasionally). Recently I added Nvidia's 3D glasses, and this plane looks even better: the HUD is incredible with this setup.

I don't think the 3d is very new. Been around at least a year. It is analglyphic (sp?), using red-blue glasses. You can obtain them very cheaply as a cardboard frame or more expensive with heavier wider frames. Search 3d glasses via google.
Not to many people like this since it distorts the colors, but it is a nice diversion on occasion.
Nvidia's current 3D glasses are the LCD shutter style. The glasses block the left and right eyes alternately and the driver shows left and right eye views at the same time. Because of the speed (120 Hz) no flicker is apparent.
Because they are shutter style there is no loss of color. They do make the image darker (half the time no light reaches our eyes) which is a problem some times. There can also be "ghosting"--left eye sees some of the right eye image. That happens mostly with bright objects on darker backgrounds.
Because of the speed requirement (slower speeds cause headaches) only a small number of monitors can be used, and they are a bit more expensive.
For me this has been great for virtual cockpits. I have a couple games for which it works as well. It works with most DX9 and DX10 products, since it becomes part of the driver.
