A nice picture of the one and only CANT 23 from

  7. #22807
    I can't deny your assessment.

Thanks, Kevin! That plane was completely unknown to me until yesterday!

    On with a light plane.

    B.F.W. M-23b with Siemens motor ?

  10. #22810
    It is, Mike!

Here is the full picture, I had to hide the Klemm in the background, she would have been too treacherous

It was the rear fuselage shape - I have a nice pic of the floatplane version...

Here is a very nicely turned out two-seater, surprisingly of a similar vintage to the above..

From the Mid-West. Lambert engine. Isinglass curtains.....

  13. #22813
That is a pleasing ship Mike. Probably have it in a Juptner somewhere. Extra busy with work this week so not much time for mysteries.

  14. #22814
Maybe a Star Cavalier E, Mike?

There seem to be different versions with and without an extra strut to the pants.

Couldn't find any evidence about isinglass.

  15. #22815
You cracked it, Robert. It is the Cavalier E. (Lots of pictures of the variations in Juptner 4/77, Kevin). The 'isinglass curtains' refers to a favourite ditty, 'Surrey with the Fringe on Top' from Oklahoma, just like this machine !

One thing all variants have in common is that uniquely tall tail unit, which reminds me of the 'ten-gallon' hat worn by Bob Hope in another movie..

    Over to Germany

Thanks, Mike. It's a bit difficult to understand those "insider clues" for non-native speakers like me.

    On with a racer.

    Apologies,Robert, it was a bit of self-indulgence

No idea about your new one , but those solar panels are unusual....

  18. #22818
    Is that the 1933 Kellner-Béchereau 28VD?

  19. #22819
Indeed, Mike, it is the Kellner-Bechereau.

A racer that never flew a race.

Over to France with a beer or a Cidre, just as you like

  20. #22820
Thank you, Robert. I'll take the beer but keep it until I've finished muck spreading - which is what I should be doing now! But before I go, here's something that should not occupy too much of anyone's Friday afternoon.

The empennage was making me think of the DFS Habicht ( and "Stummel-Habicht") but that got me nowhere
