    Yes, it's très Thunderbirds !

I knew this one - the Sud-Est (or SNCASE if you must) SE-700. Only the French.........

(Ferry, we would all love to see your photos, only I know it would make me sick and want to throw away my cameras..........a bit like when I watch John Jorgenson on guitar....)

    The Se-700 it is!

And those 1,800 photos are just the ones posted in these 'mystery planes' threads! I think I've managed to save most of those over the years.
Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.

I've saved a lot of the images but unfortunately never got around to labelling them all. Doooohhhh.......

Think I've posted this before but I do quite like it....

    Hi Mike :salute:
    A beauty, I want one!
I would say something (Johnson) Rocketish. The AMC Texas Bullet by (Texas) Aircraft Manufacturing Co?
Efforts to revive it later as the Gem Aircraft Sky Gem failed.
Any chance of a pic with registration at later stage?
Selfish me, I alternatively vote for the Regent Rocket (with tri-gear and also strongly original Rocket influenced) if not the Texas Bullet.

Correct as ever, Walter - although to be exact, this is the Bullet 185 - the later 205 differs a bit.

    Over to you sir

    (Pics mailed to you)

    Hi Kevin :salute:
It looks very much like the Bryan Model 1 (roadable) aircraft of 1953 by Leland Bryan.
I know of pics with the N5787N registration on the tail., but never saw a pic with EXP, so I may be wrong after all.

  11. #7236
For the original Bryan Autoplane roadable. I could not find a pic with the reg. Do you have one handy?

It is a homebuilt and one-of-a-kind
The colors on the plane could act as hint.
Despite the rocky background, pic not taken in USA as it is not American/Canadian
The gentleman designed/built at least 2 more aircraft.

I have been in South Africa this year, Walter, and once you have experienced the extraordinary scenery, and the light, there, you can always recognise it.

This is the Van Aswegen Vansin from Plettenburg Bay. A Castle for Lefty, please.........

Finally one I know...this is the Valtion Lentokonetehdas VL VIIMA I with closed cabin and Siemens Halske Sh14A
    Cheers
    Baragouin

very very refreshing pic...38 degrees Celsius and going up today

  18. #7243
Baragouin, I'm feeling magnanimous today (after a couple of ciders) so will donate a to cool you down a bit.

HOWEVER, your answer is sketchy and incorrect, other than that it is basically a Viima !

This is a conversion (OH-VKJ) by the Karhumaki company of Kuorvesi, and apart from the totally altered, enclosed cockpit, has a lengthened fuselage and a 150hp Bramo Sh14 motor.
Don't think anyone else was going to get that, so please proceed......

38 is too hot for civilised people. Move to Scotland.

OK Lefty thanks for the additional infos of which I was partly unaware.
However it is today 40 degrees and it is just too hot to concentrate on new enigmas.
Please bear with me till after sunset (which is in about six hours from now) when it cools down for a new offer
    Cheers

I don't think its so much that, but where does one start? Italy, Russia or USA?
    Keith

  23. #7248
My feeling was Russia, but, maybe further east ????

  24. #7249

Lefty and Moses your feeling is driving you in the right direction. A couple of clues:
    - country is Russia
    - year is 1973-74
    - she was built by a team of six.

One more clue: her name is eponymous to a town of the baltic states. There...you have her now!
