Aurora was actually the codename for B-2 Spirit spending.

I hope there is something faster and hope it's not purely robotic!

Well, according to this post, there is/was a faster, crewed aircraft.

I thought the A-12 was marginally faster.

    Not a jet, rocket-powered.

Avro Arrow CF-105 or BAC TSR2

Could be the BAC TSR2 (the cockpit windows appear the same).

I believe the Russians built an interceptor that was capable of higher speeds than the Blackbird, but only in a sprint, and then it had to be retired due to airframe stress.

Is this a trick question? If it were about automobiles the fastest car you will ever drive would be a rental car, because you will do things in it you would never do in your own car.

The Mig 25 Foxbat could do Mach 3+ in a short haul but not sure if it's the fastest crewed jet.

It was not faster than the SR or the A-12. The LM tweet above is not referencing any of those jets though. It's a wink/nod to an undisclosed platform.

I tried to replicate that LM shot (or a similar one) in the WIP KBAB.
