So sad to lose a man who has given so much freely to this community. He is a collaborator and a friend, and is part of my life, as he is in others.

    Mrs' passing.....

....there are no words that I can post ,or say, that would alleviate the pain that his family must be enduring at this time. I was on a extended trip and looked at this site on a public computer and my heart sank. I had did some historical research for Chris for his Pacific updates and it was the most informing time I have had. He was great to correspond with and always answered any inquiries promptly. We shared a common navy experience both being tin can guys and serving at approx. the same period in similar MOS's. He radar and mine sonar. He , Talon, Kelti are some of the ones who have gone before and will be listed as amongst those who transformed this game to a lesson in realism and history.
MR, you may be gone from us physically but you forever be remembered in the forum.
    RIP MR.

What a terrible loss for the community, he was a great friend and I will miss him dearly. I have such fond memories of him from the time he turned his first sod in scenery design to see him grow into one of the most prolific and best in the business. I’m currently in communication with Mary Chris’s daughter regarding his files and what we can do to get them uploaded so his memory can live on. She’s a bit of novice computer user but with some guidance I’m confident we can achieve it.

    MR_Gilbert_Islands_2019d.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 - MaskRider Legacy

Description: INTRO: MR Gilbert Islands Pack

    • This scenery was built to fit Rhumba’s Mesh!

    • Pactex & Stock Textures: MR add-on scenery is built to fit the details of PacTex Version1 ground textures. If you desire, get PacTex at FlightSim.com:

    http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?jKy.../menuchoo.html

Once logged in, go to Main Menu > Search File Libraries > type pactex*.zip in "File Name" box and hit the "Start Search" button.

    • LWM type scenery included in this package requires copying contents of your scenedb/world/texture folder to your main CFS2 texture folder. It’s a one time deal- it won't hurt a thing. NOTE: If you are going to install PacTex (highly recommended) wait until you have done so before copying these files.

    Good morning,

I am in the process of creating a legacy section to preserve MaskRider's memory.

    MR-Sakishima-Gunto-160209.zip

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 - MaskRider Legacy

Description: INTRO: Sakishima-Gunto is the name of the island chain southwest of Okinawa, between the NE coast of Formosa and Okinawa. The Japanese flew Kamikaze missions against American shipping during the invasion of Okinawa from airfields on Ishigaki-Shima and Miyako. DevilDog73’s Operation Iceberg project is what got me interested in Sakishima-Gunto. It’s a very cool little group of islands with all sorts of what I call harborlets. Tucked all around here and there- mainly to handle the ferry traffic between the islands and the fishing boats. So, it is a very target-rich environment.

    GENERAL INSTALLATION NOTES:

!Avoiding possible scenery conflicts: Many scenery designers have built scenery for Japan. With that in mind it would be wise if you deactivate any Japanese scenery in this area that could possibly conflict. Additionally Kevin “Kdriver” has put together a list of Rhumba-generated flattens that, if present, might cause issues. Here is that list:

    M5082551.BGL Rota, Tinian, Saipan
    M5082571.BGL Guam
    M5122551.BGL Farallon de Pajaros
    M5122571.BGL Sarigan, Pagan, Agrihan
    M5162511.BGL Minamiioto
    M5162531.BGL Iwo Jima, ChiChijima
    M5202511.BGL MukoJima
    M5162211.BGL Yonaguni-Jima, Iriomote-Jima, Ishigaki-Shima
    M5162231.BGL Tarama-Jima, Miyako-Jima

The last two in particular would definitely be in the way, although I am not sure what exactly they would get up to. Thanks Kevin, very much, for your foresight and willingness to lend a hand!

!This scenery was built to fit Rhumba’s mesh. However, I have included an exclude that will get rid of all stock rivers, roads and shorelines so that those who wish to, can use it with stock mesh. Although I am not too sure how well the stock mesh- what little of it there is- will fit with these new LWMs and shorelines.

!Pactex & Stock Textures: MR add-on scenery is built to fit the details of PacTex Version1 ground textures.

!LWM type scenery included in this package requires copying contents of your scenedb/world/texture folder to your main CFS2 texture folder. It’s a one time deal- it won't hurt a thing. NOTE: If you are going to install PacTex (highly recommended) wait until you have done so before copying these files.

    Kevin,

Thanks. I transferred all of his scenery files into the legacy section. There is also this, which you are free to upload...

    Andrew,

Over the next few days I'll put the download list for MR's scenery in the Utilities section, as well as compile a package containing his excellent maps and screenshots of his bases.

Hi Huub; many of Chris' sceneries work in fs9 too; you'll have to maybe tweak a few here and there to avoid terrain/ stock airport conflicts

I updated the MR_infotools download in the MaskRider legacy section, as well as the Utilities section.

Along with the original two files, it now contains Rami's download list plus separate maps of MaskRider's airfields.

As there are dozens of them, I haven't included the airfield screenshots which are viewed by clicking on the maps on MR's website.

Apart from MR's website, does anyone know if Lindsay Watt's objects can be obtained elsewhere?

I'm just wondering about the future of his website.

Don’t think they’re available anywhere else, I have everything he’s released if needed
