    TrackIR Connection Problems

I had not connected my TrackIR for quite some time, but did so today. Works perfectly with MSFS, but for some reason, neither P3DV4.5 orP3DV5.3 are connecting with it.

Hopefully I can find a easy solution, but no luck yet. I made sure to start TrackIR before starting either sim, plus I rebooted my PC, thinking it might be a simconnect problem. No joy.

    Any advice? NC

Go into your redistributables folder in P3D, and reinstall the simmconnect msi.

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I am having the problems mentioned in this forum thread. Apparently, at least from this forum, the problem may have started when MSFS was installed. Maybe there is a fix, but I don't know what it is, or where to download. PeteAs mentioned, it works fine in MSFS.

    Good day Chief,

I am using TrackIR with the latest version of P3D without any issues but I don’t have MSFS installed alongside.
A couple of suggestions, I always use “Run as Administrator” to start TrackIR 5 and I always start it AFTER I start the sim and it has completely loaded to the scenario screen.
It doesn’t always sync with P3D if I start it before the sim.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers, Bernard

Thanks for the suggestions. I always start all programs I have with Run as Administrator. Nothing is working. If I am not able to get TrackIR to work with P3D, that is most unfortunate. Works great with MSFS, and for now, I guess it will have to do. Frustrating. NC

Sometimes TrackIR software can be finicky and wants TIR to be the last USB device to be plugged into the computer. I've had it fail to run a few times in FSX, the solution was to unplug the TIR from the computer, then plug it back in. This will make TIR the last USB device the computer recognizes.
