Seriously, I wish we could construct more missions for WW1 aircraft. It seems we are hampered by their slow speeds. I had no end of trouble trying to make the mission for the Blackburn Kangaroo sinking a German sub.

What about a Avro 504 Serie? It was used as a trainer until the thirties by some countries.

Description: The Albatros C.III


The German Albatros C.III was a highly successful all-purpose two-seat biplane of World War I, used in a wide variety of roles including observation, photo-reconnaissance, light bombing and bomber escort. The C.III was a refined version of the successful Albatros C.I type. It was eventually produced by 6 subcontractor manufacturers as well as Albatros.


The first 12 aircraft went to the front in December 1915 and it was gradually withdrawn from frontline service in mid-1917. But production continued for training aircraft. Orders for 2271 aircraft in total were placed with the first 796 ordered for combat units. The remaining 1475 were produced as trainers. Some 26 Albatros C.III were delivered to Bulgaria, including eight trainers and the Polish Air Force operated 15 Albatros C.III in 1918-1920 during Polish-Soviet War.

While Captain Kurt is already nearly a dozen aircraft ahead, I just manged to finish the first repaint for one of them.









It's the Austrian-Hungarian Albatros D.III Oeffag flown by the CO of Flik 51/J Oblt.i.d.Res. Benno Fiala Ritter von Fernbrugg, who, with 28 kills, became the third most successful LFT pilot. Although it had at least two other pilots.

The screenshots are FS9, but the testures will work in CFS2 as well.

Mike, I'm curious - what are the 4 aircraft?

Well, limiting this to aircraft which made a significant contribution, I think top of my list would be the Curtiss H-16 Flying Boat, then the Short Bomber ( there are a few good 3 view scale drawings), the Farman F40bis type 60 and the last plane would be a toss up between the Junkers J.1 and the AEG J.1

I began to work on the Curtiss H16, the result won't be for to-morrow, badly the time I can spend for the sim is limited, but I would be happy to finalise it, starting from a CFS1 model from Stephan Scholz. The actual step is for the liberty engines.
