    SS Pruth wreck UT

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Scenery - Library objects

Description: SS Pruth Wreck for CFS2 by UncleTgt

This model takes one of Stuart277's IJN freighter models & changes it to depict SS Pruth, beached on a reef on the approaches to Fairfax Harbour, Port Moresby, PNG. To save on the precious ship model slots, I've converted it to a scenery ship bgl. This means it's unsinkable, but this is no problem for a wreck that was beached on a reef!

Two different models are provided, a (relatively) undamaged model circa 1941, & a "fully" damaged model for 1943 onwards. The 1941 model will show damage if enough hits are registered, whereas the 1943 model is already fully wrecked & will not change it's appearance any more, no matter how many times it's hit.

Both models have DPs created to register hits using Pen32win's 500lb US skip bomb, as this was the major use made of this wreck during 1942-43, it being used as a convenient target vessel for training missions. This training could still be dangerous work for the aircrews involved...

I've also provided some optional "skipbomb" friendly DP files for the four Wolfi Hog Islander wrecks, & both Wake Island Momi class APDs.

To install, unzip the download to a temporary location & move/ copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

    Thanks to

Stuart 277 for his series of ship models for use in CFS 2
Allen for his Making Exploding Objects using FS2002 Tools & Tutorial
Arno Gerretsen for ModelconverterX & FXeditor, such clever & versatile tools

This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions

Thanks UT, a useful target and landmark. Any chance of the wrecked SS Macduhui?
