    Paul Foster Canberra repaints ?

    Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any repaints for the old but still beautiful Paul Foster Canberras? That is rather repaints that are available anywhere... The readme file that comes with them talks about repaints from the Illustrious Nazca_Steve - and I've found refs to paints being stored on the old (and now very much dead) Classic British Files site... does anyone know of any still floating around where a fella could actually find them. At one time back when dinosaurs roamed the earth I had them all backed up on CD's... my present machine doesn't even have a reader! Drat...

Like you, I have them on DVD, but no optical drive at the moment. Have you searcher the usual places for Steve Beeny/Steven Beeny? He also has a skype link on his user page?

He's also been a member of Deviant art for 11 years and never posted, another dead end.

    Hallo Desert Rat!

Yes, I hit the "wayback machine" first, and then tried every variation I could find on Google searches for Steve, Nazca, etc. I've found some rather nice screenshots of lovely looking skins, but all links lead to the defunct Flying Stations pages or Nazca's old site. No joy I'm afraid.

    They're such pretty models

although this website still seems active, http://www.nazcastudios.com/sea-hawk/index.html

turns out the homepage is still active, http://www.nazcastudios.com.

I initially didn't realise, didn't really read it and thought it was one of those 'purchase this domain name' thingies. It's not and there are links to linkedin, etc. For a graphic designer*, not sure the page does it for me if it initially looks like a 'buy me' launch page.

Yes, I'd found that too - but couldn't find anything related to the cranberries...

Thanks so much for all your help. Graphic design is something I've never been able to wrap my head around. I can't draw a straight line even with a ruler, let alone on a 'pooter...!

He ( Steve Beeny aka Nazca Steve) designed a clever little ' flash' module to interface with his Canberra repaints unfortunately Microsoft have disabled many of things that used to use 'flash'. You may find a working one if you hit up the wayback machine starting here and your system has 'flash' working
(picture of what you're looking for)

    Hallo Motormouse,

Nope, no flash installed here, and no way on earth I'd think of putting on this machine. Another good idea taken over by technology...

I'll just have to be satisfied with the original skins by the look of it.

Thanks to all for the help!

I do have 4 of Steve Beeny's (aka Nasca_Steve) repaints for Paul Foster's Canberra. I will try to upload them somewhere, but not here - as my previous uploads to SOH were deleted.

Anyway, the story of Steve Beeny's Canberra repaints is a long an convoluted one. He did repaints for not only Paul Foster's Canberra, but also for Kazunori Ito's and Bill Holkers around 2005-2006. Then in 2010 he teamed up with others in the form of "Flying Stations" to make his own Canberras, including a multitude of variations. These were sold for a fair price of $5 to $10, and this continued up until a few years ago, when he decided that the small profit and interest did not maintain the cost of his site. You can view the range of products from this team here on the Wayback Machine:
    https://web.archive.org/web/20160313...a-pack-b2.html
    https://web.archive.org/web/20160318...pack-b57a.html
    https://web.archive.org/web/20160408...gstations.com/

One of these packs was offered as freeware around 2012, and there are a few repaints around for this version (but not compatible with Paul Foster's Canberras). This freeware pack is around on some torrent sites, but not on any mainstream sim sites.

Besides doing graphic work for comics, he also published an interesting book about the use of Canberras in Ethiopia:
    http://www.canberraexperience.com/

If you want to contact him, he currently has a Facebook site:
    https://www.facebook.com/pg/Flying-S...5465939/posts/
In a post a year ago he was still offering (via private messaging) his previous payware downloads for a modest price. Contact: through Facebook.

Some of his freeware is offered at:
    https://bravozulu.blog/category/flying-station/
but not, unfortunately, the Canberra B2 freeware pack.

Yes, thanks for the history. I've got all of his own Canberra models, and flew the wings off of them all. But I've always been intrigued by the Foster models; they're so good, but seem to be either forgotten or ignored by practically everyone. I just find that strange!
