    Gmax question ?

Looking at getting into modelling for CFS3. I need to get Gmax for the SDK. Can not find it anywhere. Found where i can get the code needed but not Gmax itself. Any help ? Regards,Scott

Previously available through Turbosquid, but it seems they’ve removed the download from their site. The end of an era!

I’ll set up a download for you Scott, gimme a little time.

    Hi Tom,

Could you please set up a Gmax download for me too? I'm going to need it for my DFS230 glider project.

    Thanks,
    Mike

That's what I found last night also.

The registration location is also no longer functioning.

Thanks Major, I had forgotten about FSAlpha.

The page for download links to Gmax, its help files and the registration workaround is lacking all the labels, but the links work all the same. The top one (unlabelled) is for Gmax itself.

TurboSquid used to handle the registration necessary to get Gmax working, but the workaround bypasses that.

Gmax is really old software now and you might have some bother with Windows 10: save your work often! There is a thread on handy tips and setup advice in the Aircraft Design and Animation forum which I recommend, also Milton Shupe's excellent tutorial series.

You might want to start with simple stuff, such as buildings, or even airbases. This should be around somewhere. "The Stupid Idiots' Guide to starting with gMax"

    Hello folks
I believe I don't mistake saying Gmax is available on the Free Flight Site, and available here:

I had forgotten Dave had that on his site.

All the pieces are on that page. Including the work around.

You really need to do the Gmax tutorials. They are not included in the base install you had to install them separately. I still have them in my install and I think I have the install files. It might take me a few days to find find them. I am on the road all week and don't have much time to dig through the back up drive

The tutorials would not teach you how to make planes. It will teach you how to use the gmax controls and how to manipulate polys.

Hey sixstrings5859, I found this thread by Milton Shupe which may help you out, its got a whole heap of YouTube links explaining GMax and the build process.

Was looking for some info for the contact points and came across this as I traveled down the search engine wormhole
