    Angry Freezing on startup.

Well heres a new one, haven't even installed the "Update", now it won't even load, just freezes, at the Asobo logo or even before that. Any ideas??

Might be compatibility with the cloud end. The sim always talks to its host server at startup. Open the Microsoft Store and click the top-right menu icon, then "Download and updates," then click the get updates button. Even if MSFS isn't in the on-screen list, it'll pop in at the top as the update begins. Once the core files are at 1.18.13.0, the rest will come after you move/rename your Community folder and re-launch the sim.

    Get some coffee...

Once the main update is done, head over to the Content Manager and get the updates there.

    Get more coffee.

After that, you should be good to go.

Launch the Steam app first and do the first preliminary update from there. It's about 350 MB.

Then do the coffee coffee thing!

Ok, so I checked the steam update tab, everything was current. What I did do was disable the steam overlay, and the game controller thingy, and now everything is fine!

    Gluttony my friend...

I just fixed that issue on my brother's PC. Too much crap in your Community folder. He had over 400,000 items in his, too many to even recycle, deleted them all from the folder. Sim opened mach schnell, no freezes, no hang ups, and it opened to the new 1.18.14.0 version too. Only thing he'll have to do is put back in the Community folder what he desires. I told him keep it light and local. But I guarantee that is the bulk of most of you people's issues, you simply have too much crap in your Community folder, get rid of the fodder.

I use an app called MSFS Addons... (something or another). Got it on Flightsim.to. It allows you to load and unload addons as wanted. Works well for me. I have folders for different scenery regions and aircraft. I just turn them on or off, depending where I might be flying.

England has disappeared and the sim crashes if I try a flight anywhere in the UK. Does this mean a re-install? I have already emptied the community folder etc. to no avail. With the changes in the SDK, this is all getting very tedious.

I think England needs to be downloaded from the Content Manager. I keep seeing that japan and England aren't present on my system. However, since I don't fly there often, I haven't got around to downloaded them.

Indeed they do need to be downloaded from the content manager. But since the rush of the first few days after the update are behind us now, speeds and stability should be better.

I have the Steam edition, and did not know that. Thanks. Right now I am in the middle of completely reinstalling Win 10. I had finally, after 4 yrs, totally screwed it up. NC

Try a Repair first... so far it appears to have fixed a lot of post-SU5+Hotfix issues for me.
