    A RAF Re8 for FS 2004

    Hello Folks

Once approved by the team, will be available a RAF Re8 for FS 2004.

It's my first model I developped for CFS2, and tried to set up for FS9

RAF Re8 for Flight Simulator 2004

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category FS 2004 Military - Props

Description: I don't introduce the most beautiful and successful British aeroplane from World War One, but the Royal Aircraft Factory Reconnaissance Experimental 8 became a legend with all the reliable service she provided from the second part of 1916 to the end of the war as a reconnaissance, bomber and ground attack plane.

This model evocates a mid production aeroplane, with Daimler-type cowlings, steel undercarriage with wooden fairings, and Constantinescu synchronizing system for the Vickers gun. The panel instruments' disposition represents one of numerous possibilities.

The model, made originaly for CFS2, is from Martin Klein, the crew is a mix of Martin Wright's RAF Pilot and Wolfi's Japanese pilot.

The gauge and 2D panel are from Martin Klein.

The Flight Dynamics are from Aer DaddyO and were modified to fit this model by Stephan Scholz, who kindly found answers to my capricious asks, great thanks Stephan.

The sounds were found in an Aerocrate model, and are from LuftwaffeOberst and Gary Aumaugher.

The livery is from Martin Klein and depicts a plane from 3 AFC, flown by Nigel Love as Pilot and M. Shelley as observer.

Many thanks to Stephan Scholz, Kevin Driver "KDriver", Michael Lang "Ravenna", "Wolfebee89", John P Fortin "Blood_Hawk23", Gary Aumaugher, "LuftwaffeOberst", Martin Wright, Wolfi and all the SOH forum members for their help and support.
Thanks to Paul R. Hare for his "RAF Re8 at War" Windsock datafile.
Great thanks to Sir Peter Jackson, the TVAL and Wingnut Wings teams for the plethoric documentation on the Re8 found on their website.

So, I hope you'll enjoy it
    Martin Klein

    Martin,
You succeeded in making a beautiful model from a very ugly plane .

    Thanks for the nice comments

I'm on the way to update the model, now the light switch box switches each relevant light

I would enjoy to have the engine cowlings hidden with a key, I tested spoilerwell animation, but the part is normally hidden, an idea on an animation to use for the engine cowling to be normally shown would be welcome

    Cheers

    Hi Martin,

Thanks for the latest improvements to your beautiful model.

Your update was missing a picture, so I edited your original upload by inserting the new aircraft files and adding your latest text to the introductory blurb. I hope that's OK.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

    Huub,

If I would still have FS9 installed, I would ask a Belgian AF repaint of this!

Wonderful that these "obscure" birds are being modelled.

    Cheers,

    Priller

Martin has released the CFS2 version which has another six RFC and AFC liveries which should work with FS2004.

    Many thanks Kevin

Yes, six more liveries are available in the CFS2 pack, and here is the aircraft.cfg to use it in FS9:Aircraft.zip

There is not still Belgian version, that would need a model with earlier engine cowlings, but why not later

    Hope you'll enjoy, cheers
    Martin
