    Me 262 Schwalbe (Prop)

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - German

Description: Based on the CFS3 Me262 with some CFS3 Bf109g parts and rebuilt for CFS2. Converted to the look of the Me 262 V1 Prototype that only had a piston engine and was a taildragger. Unlike the prototype this one is powerd by a DB 601 or DB 605 like the Bf109s.

Has animations with breaking parts and damage texture logics. Model is Multi LOD. Flight Dynamics only tested in Free Flight and are quick and dirty. Anyone is free to rework flight dynamics.

Hello- It's interesting that the aircraft would wind up looking like that... with a little more work, one could have this- the Me-309B:

I stumbled onto this drawing some years ago on some Japanese website... I've even seen a photo of this aircraft in the air! Some interesting details of the airframe, besides the obvious use of the 262 fuselage from the cockpit back, are the inlet for the turbocharger intake, and that it seems that the designers narrowed the fuselage just ahead of the cockpit, some aerodynamic experiment that would later be applied to some supersonic aircraft...

    Thanks all!!!!

mikezola: Never seen a Me309 with that look. To me it looks like a Bf109 fitted with Me262 canopy and Me262 style tail. Also strangely the main wings look to be based on the Bf109e wings by looking at the aileron and flap layout.

Thanks Allen! With just a little bit of cfg tweaking it flies pretty well on FS9, too!
