FSX-install on new WinX laptop won't go

    Hi all,

When I try to install FSX on my new WinX laptop from official Microsoft disks, it stays hanging by "removing applications".
As I thought that it might be a disk problem, I copied everything that is on disks to an USB-stick, but that gives the same result.

    Suggestions welcome,

You just need to be patient when it says 'removing applications' .
This process can take 20-30 minutes. Setup will then continue as normal.

Be sure to install FSX outside of the default, "C:\Program Files" folder. Installing in the default location can lead to issues with the security MS placed on the Windows core folders. You might also want to look at FSX: Steam Edition, it's installer plays nicer with Windows 10 and it is more optimized for Windows 7 and later operating systems.
My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
